The Lo Down - A Small Book Haul

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've been reading so much lately, I really enjoy a good book. I've read about three books in the last week or so that's really good going I think. I find it hard to go into a book shop without picking up a book to be honest. I always find one that I like. When I was in the Bookstation a while ago I picked up a couple of books from the same author. I don't know if you have this book shop in your country it's great though as you do get books at pretty good value so that's why I like it. It can be hit and miss sometimes but the last few times I went in was successful.
The three books I bought are by the author Ransom Riggs you may of heard of him. He wrote Miss Peregrine's House For Peculiar Children which was recently made into a film. I haven't seen it yet but I'm definitely going to watch it soon once I finish the book because of course I want to do posts comparing them. I've started the book and so far it's pretty good I'm enjoying it so I'm glad I bought it.

The other two books I bought are the sequels Library of Souls and Hollow City which I will certainly read once I finish the first one. I do have a lot of books to read at the moment but I'll definitely do a review on them all. I really like the covers on these books they look very unusual indeed and I was immediately drawn towards them I'm not going to lie. I like a good book so if any of these are like the first one I'll be happy.

If you have any book recommendations yourself definitely let me know I love finding new ones to read so tell me your favourite books.

The Lo Down - Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've been using Mane 'n Tail haircare recently and I've been liking it lots. You can find all the reviews I've done so far here. I've been really impressed with the products I've tried so far. The latest product I've tried is their Hair Strengthener. This is a Daily Leave In Conditioning Treatment that you can use in dry and wet hair, it actually smells amazing.
Basically this product helps to provide essential protection to the hair to achieve longer, stronger and healthier looking hair. This product does so much so it's pretty much a all in one product. It also protects hair strands from heat and chemical styling which is exactly what I need as I am forever straightening my hair. I use this whenever I wash my hair and I'm about to blow dry it or when my hair needs a little pick me up. So far it's been working really well and I see a bit different in my hair, My hair tends to fall out sometimes when I'm brushing it and that doesn't seem to be happening lately at all which is always a good sign.

This product comes in a 178ml bottle so a little bit goes a long way. I just spritz some in my hair, about 2 to 3 sprays and that's literally all I need but this probably depends on the person. When I spray it in dry hair it doesn't become greasy at all which I happy to tell you guys as some products tend to do just that. I'm definitely a big fan of this brand and I'm looking forward to trying some more of their styling products soon.

The Lo Down - Weightloss Update #9

Hey Guys and Dolls,

So it's Friday again so that means another weighin of course. I love when it comes to Friday as I love to see the progress that I have made so far. I've always struggled with my weight throughout my life to be fair and seeing as I'm getting on pretty well now it makes me so happy! So I'm down another 2 pound this week, the same as last week but it's still amazing progress and I haven't had a gain since I started my weightloss journey back in January. In total I'm down 2 stone 3 and a half pounds now which is huge and I'm well on track to lose another 1 stone 10 and a half pound in the next 7 weeks. It's definitely achievable and I'm going to blow my target out of the park.
So what did I get up to this week. I didn't get to my fitness classes as I'm quite broke and everything costs money these days as you probably all know. I didn't let that deter me though and I went on a walk to Marley Park a couple of times this week which you can see on my Instagram. I actually ran into some peacocks up there one of the days and I had no idea peacocks were even in the park, sure you learn something new everyday. Marley Park is super close to my house like a twenty minute walk at most away. It's really nice to have this right on my doorstep, I literally go for a nice walk when I'm up there then I read a bit of my book. I'm still reading Unseal by K.M. Langdon and I'm loving it so far, it's such a great read I'd definitely recommend it. She's definitely going to be the next Nicholas Sparks that's for sure.

I thought I'd keep this post short and sweet. I'm starting college on Monday as you probably read in my last post so I'll be beyond busy all next week so hopefully that shows on the scales on Friday.

The Lo Down - I'm Going Back to College!

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Yes you read it right I'm heading back to college. My course starts next week so I'm very excited indeed. The course I'm enrolling in is a Diploma in Social Media For Business which I'm very much interested in right now. Social Media is a big deal for me with my blog and what not which means I use it quite a bit in my day to day life. I only heard that I got a place in the course today and I start on Monday so things are moving pretty quick.
I really enjoy the college life to be honest, I like the lifestyle and learning new things. I don't think you can be ever too educated and new things come out all the time so there's always stuff to learn. I'm going pick up some bits and pieces over the weekend, notebooks, backpack etc, I actually saw a really nice bag in Penneys/Primark today so I'm going to get that over the weekend. You may definitely see a haul post of all my college stuff over the weekend.

This course is right up my street and I feel like I have so much to learn from it. It will help my blog alot in the long run aswell I think. I'm really looking forward to meeting some new people aswell. Basically the course in a nutshell is to understand how social media can be practically, proactively and constructively used as a viable business mechanism which sounds very interesting. It will definitely help that I have my social media platforms active already.

So yeah college life is going to start on Monday and I'll definitely keep you guys posted on how I'm getting on and what I think of the course itself.

The Lo Down - My Life as a Blogger

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've been blogging almost 6 years now and I love my little part of the internet lots. My blog as you all know by now is called All-Made-Up-21. I named it that as I like nothing more than being all made up and I started my blog when I was 21 years old which seems like a while ago now.
My life has changed alot since I started blogging, first off I've met some amazing people while blogging and I'm now happy to call them my good friends. I've also gotten lots of great opportunities like going to product launches, landing amazing internships and liasing with press officers.

I've gotten the opportunity to work in Market Match PR and The Fragrance Shop Head Office in Manchester. Both were wonderful experiences and I'd definitely recommend anyone to give it a go. I learnt alot during the weeks I work in both office.

I also enjoy going to events and meeting up with fellow bloggers and learning about new and exciting launches. Life couldn't be better right now, I think blogging has really helped me with my fight against mental health problems and for that I'll always be grateful.

Lastly all of you readers mean the world to me. I'm glad you enjoy reading my blog and I hope you take something from it. If any of you ever want to start your own blog yourself, definitely feel free to contact me and I'll give you the best advice I can.

The Lo Down - Mane 'n Tail HoofMaker Hand & Nail Therapy

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As you all know I'm a pretty big fan of Mane 'n Tails Haircare products, I just think there so good and I enjoy using them. I always feel my hair is in such good condition after I use their range of products, I've actually done a couple of reviews that you can check out here. I recently was sent two more products from the brand to try and one was their hand cream, Hoofmaker. I had no idea they did products other than haircare so I was really looking forward to giving this a go.
Basically this hand cream was originally developed for horses to moisturize dry, cracked and brittle hooves. So in my head if it worked well doing that it must be an amazing handcream and that's true this really is. Hoofmaker has a really nice consistency, a little bit goes a long way so don't go too mad with this product. It smells really nice and fresh plus it leaves my hands feeling so nice and soft. It's a pretty good size tube aswell so this will definitely last a while that's for sure.

I've been so impressed with all Mane 'n Tail's products so far and I can't wait to try some more in the future. It's such a nice brand and I'm surprised I only started using their products lately.

The Lo Down - Catrice Liquid Metal Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I'm not a huge fan of cream eyeshadows as I feel that they crease pretty badly but the Catrice Liquid Metal Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow is something different altogether. The shade Smart Mauve is a beautiful metallic neutral shade. It's so pigmented, once you put this on your eyelids it doesn't crease at all. I've used it with and without eyeshadow primer and it works just fine.
As you all know I love neutral eyeshadows so I really like this shade alot. I'm hoping more neutral shades are released in this range. I'm definitely going to have a look at my local Catrice counter very soon that's for sure.

The Lo Down - My Current Goals

Hey Guys and Dolls,

2017 is seriously going by so fast like a blink of an eye, not going to lie it's kind of scary I have to admit. I've been thinking alot lately about what I want to do with my year and I've come up with a couple of goals that I want to share with you guys. I think all of them are fairly achievable so I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to look back on them in a couple of months and tick them off my list.
Lose 2 stone in 2 months.
My weightloss journey started in January 2017 and it's going really well so far. I've already lost
2 stone in 2 months which I think is really good going so I want to keep up the good work. I've set myself a goal to lose another two stone in the next two months which will be hard but definitely achievable in my opinion so I have high hopes. My parents and nephew are going away in mid May so I'm planning to have accomplished this by then. They've already told me that there going to buy me some new clothes which will include a Gryffindor hoodie from Harry Potter so of course I'm very excited. I'm going to just keep doing what I'm doing at the moment, heathier eating and alot of fitness classes so we'll see what happens.

Read More Books
I'm a big reader it has to be said, I've been reading books since I was about six and I'm pretty sure my parents read to me before that. I just like getting stuck in a good book and drifting off to another world, nothing beats it in my opinion. I've finished two books (Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them & Taking a Chance), I'm currently reading Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney and I'm loving it so far. I'm going to start doing more book reviews on my blog as I enjoy them alot and I hope you do to.

Start Running Again
Running and weightloss come hand in hand really. I love running, I don't do it as much anymore but I do enjoy it when I do get the time. In the past I've run marathons and done them in a pretty good time too which is always great. As I still have a bit of weight to lose I'm going to start off small and take baby steps, sure I don't want to do a injury or anything. My goal here is to fingers crossed run another 10km run by the end of the Summer,

Get a Job
I left my last job in December after almost nine years, I just thought it was about time to pack it in. I've enjoyed my time off but now I'm getting a little bit bored if I'm to be honest and I hate being bored. I am filling up my days blogging and doing stuff which I love but at this stage I definitely want a new job. I've been applying for a couple here and there but nothing yet. I would love to have a job by April, I'm so broke at the moment which isn't too good so a little bit of money would go a long way.

Go on a Holiday
I haven't gone on a holiday in years and I think it's about time I go on one. I wouldn't even mind going down the country to be honest, I just need to get out of Dublin for a while I think. Ideally I'd love to go to either Portugal or Spain as they both have the sun and yummy food. I've been to both countries and I love them alot so hopefully I get to go to one of them. Of course I have to tick off getting a job first.

Do a Makeup Course
This is probably the goal I'm most excited about. I love all things makeup and I've always wanted to a a makeup course and never gotten around to doing one. I've gotten the opportunity recently to do one, it may be only a beginners course but I always love learning new tips and tricks. I'm not going to let this pass me by, sure if I really like it I'm going to sign up to do another makeup course so I'm really excited to see what doors this opens for me.

So there are all my goals I'm going to do a update in a while maybe at the end of the Summer to let you guys know how I'm getting on with things but I'm expecting to do well, fingers crossed!

The Lo Down - Blank Canvas Dimension Series Hamper

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I love a good Irish brand and Blank Canvas ticks all the boxes. It has great quality brushes that I love and they're pretty affordable too. The F20 is amazing for foundation application, followed closely by the F06 I love both these brushes alot and use them all the time. I bought the Dimension Series Hamper just after Christmas when their sale was on. I got this set for around €50 which is unreal value. In the hamper you get  brushes, a candle and a brush holder. The products come beautifully packaged in a Blank Canvas Hamper box aswell.
I'm so impressed with these brushes, for what I paid for them they couldn't be any better. The brushes are new to the brand and have a mixture of brushes in beautiful new colours. My favourite is the rose gold and black & the purple handles. I already have my eye on a set that includes eye and lip brushes. I can't decide what handle colour to go for, hot pink or rose gold and black.

There is some great brushes included in the brush set I purchased. I love the contour brush the most as it's like nothing in my collection at the moment.

The Lo Down - Happy Mother's Day Mum!

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Seeing as it's Mother's Day I couldn't let the day go by without mentioning my dear Mum. She is my rock and is always there for me without a shadow of a doubt. We've been through alot together over the years and she's been by my side through it all, I don't know where I'd be without her most of the time. She seriously is my Best Friend!
Being born on the 15th February I was basically her Valentine's Day baby. I'm the second child of three children, if you didn't know already I already have a brother, Ger and a sister, Lisa. We're quite a close knit bunch it has to be said. We all love our Mum to pieces and we like nothing more than all meeting up and treating her to a day out in town or a nice dinner because of course she deserves. My Mum is also Nanna to my wonderful nephew Ryan who absolutely idolises her. He loves his Nanna Lisa and he loves nothing more than coming over to our house and having the chats. He loves getting all the weekly news, he's beyond his young years.

I love spending time with my Mum, we are both always busy but do try to find the time every once in a while. I love our shopping trips to Town they are definitely my favourite. We always come home laden with shopping bags and going through them is always the best thing ever. We did have our sad times though aswell but we were always the better for them. Our hardest time by far is when I had my mental health issues. I'm doing a couple of posts now to highlight mental health as I don't think it's talked about enough in Ireland but I still find it pretty hard to discuss myself as it was quite a hard time for not just my Mum and I but my whole family. We all found it difficult but as a family we powered through it like we always do and came out the other side. My Mum was amazing then like she always is, she had all the advice I could ever need. Everyone has ill mental health through times in their lifes so to hear my Mum talk about stuff made me feel that little bit better to be honest.

Now for the good times as I've said before my Mum and I are really close, like best friends. I love the times we spend together and there has been many. I love our weekly chats about what we got out up to over the last couple of days, we always have them over a cup of tea. She also have been to a couple of events with me and she absolutely loves them, she's ever so proud of my blog and the work I out into it. We've also gone on lots of amazing holidays together, one of my favourites was when we went to Manchester. We literally shopped til we dropped and had such a great time. That will always be one of my best memories. I was doing work experience over there and my Mum came over for a weekend. I was so upset when she had to get the train to the Airport on Sunday night but that's all a part of growing up I guess.

So this was just a post to celebrate my Mum, she does mean the world to me now and always. I'm sure we'll have many other amazing adventures abroad and lovely chats over a cup of tea in the future.

The Lo Down - Essence My Must Haves Palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I recently purchased the Essence My Must Haves palette in Penneys in Dundrum Town Centre and I'm so glad I did as it's so amazing! The palette itself costs under €5 so it's cheap as chips, then each individual eyeshadow costs around €1.90 I think. If it's different I'll let you all know.
I bought the eight pan eyeshadow palette but it is also available in a smaller version if that suits you better. I got three shadows this time to fill up my palette and they are actually a fairly big size and they are very pigmented. Sometimes I get disappointed with the pigmentation of some shadows from Essence Cosmetics but these are actually top notch. I picked up the shades, 05 Cotton Candy, 07 Mauvie-Time! and 01 Go Goldie!, of course they are all neutral shades (my favourite) there so pretty. I'm glad I picked these up! I don't think the two lighter shades show up too well on camera but there a gorgeous shimmery gold and pinky colour.
All in all I'm really impressed with this palette, I think if you wanted a custom palette but the prices are too high like they can be I'd definitely recommend checking this Essence Cosmetics offering out. You sure won't be disappointed if you do. I've been using these shadows alot and there so good.

The Lo Down - The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F***

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I recently bought the book, The Life Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*** and I thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys. Sorry if you your a bit offended by the name but clearly it is what it is. I myself am always stressed out and care too much at times I suffer with anxiety so I thought I'd give this book a read. I think we always can overly care about things alot which isn't a bad thing but I thought I'd read this book to see if I could care about things maybe a bit less and focus on myself that little bit more.
I bought this book in Easons on special offer and the minute I saw it I knew I had to buy it. It's such a easy and interesting read so I'm glad I did. It's layed out well and there's so many great tips in there. Major kudos to   who wrote this, no wonder this book is doing so well it's really good and insightful.
I know another one of her books has just launched and it's pretty much the same idea so I'm definitely going to pick it up next week in Easons and let you know what I think.

I was super impressed with this book and it definitely has helped me care a little bit less about stressful things that are going on in my life right now which is a good things.

The Lo Down - Lierac Premium The Supreme Mask Absolute Anti Aging

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I like using face masks, I'm not going to lie I actually don't have too many but there a welcome addition to my skincare routine. A brand that is new to me is French brand Lierac, I'd never tried their products before so I was really excited to give this a whirl recently. The product itself is called The Supreme Mask Absolute Anti Aging, I know quite a mouthful, I was really looking forward to seeing what it was like.
This product is said to correct the appearance of all visible signs of aging: deep wrinkles, loss of density, slackening, dark spots, pores, skin texture and instantly replumps and illuminates so yeah it's said to do alot of stuff and you'll be happy to hear it does just that. I apply this face mask up to 3 times a week as it is quite rich. I cover my face in a thick layer of it and leave it on my skin for up to 15 minutes. The results my skin is left feeling super soft and looking so illuminated, like I'm glowing from within. This is definitely one of my favourite masks I love it and I'm so happy with the way it's left my skin.
This is definitely on the high end of the price spectrum, I saw on a website recently that it costs $100 which is a little bit over my budget personally but the question is do I think it's worth it? The answer Yes Yes Yes, I really adore this mask I really notice a difference in my skin when I used it and I was really impressed. I'm interested to see what the rest of the Lierac Premium range is like so I'll definitely try some more products from this range in the future.

The Lo Down - Weightloss Update #8

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've been doing my weightloss updates for 2 months now and wow I could never imagined what I would have achieved in this short period. I'm seriously delighted with life right now. The jeans I bought two weeks ago are already two big which is a bit mad to be honest. I liked those jeans aswell but going down a size is always a good thing so I'm happy.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm down another two pound which brings my total weightloss to 2 stone 1 and a half pounds so yeah I'm chuffed. I seriously didn't think I'd be doing so well when I started this journey back in January that's for sure. I'm well on course to losing another two stone by May I can feel it, then I can get my Gryffindor hoodie from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando. I've been wanting this hoodie for ages so of course I'm going to wear it around lots when I get it.

This week wasn't the best of weeks either I wasn't feeling the best so I couldn't go to my fitness classes which was a shame as I miss them lots I'm not going to lie. Boxercise and Aqua Aerobics are seriously the best two classes I ever could have started and I'm seriously hooked on them. I do Aqua Aerobics twice a week and Boxercise on a Thursday, the latter is definitely more intense you definitely feel it on Friday morning that's for sure.

I'm going to try and put lots of hard work in this week. I'm going to eat super healthy and go to all my fitness sure I miss them so why wouldn't I to be fair. I'm hoping to lose another good bit of weight next week so we'll see how things go.

The Lo Down - Simple Night Out Makeup Look

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I love creating simple makeup looks more than any. I know I don't particularly like spending hours doing my makeup unless it's an absolute necessity on my part. On Tuesday I created a really simple makeup look using some of my favourite products and I thought I'd share it you guys.
For my base I used the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation and concealer.  This is the newly reformulated and repackaged one and I was so impressed, it could be even better than the original in my honest opinion. You can find the review for these two products here. I apply these products to my face using the So Su Pro Blender and Complexion sponge and it gives such a nice finish. I'm not one for using sponges but I must admit I've been using this everyday since I my Mum gave it me. I reviewed this a couple of days so if you want to read my thoughts on it you can check out the review here.

For blush and contour I used two products from Benefit Cosmetics, their Dew the Hoola and Dandelion Dew. Both are probably my favourite products from this wonderful brand and that's saying something. They are on the pricey side of things but I'm delighted I spent every last penny on them. There such good quality products and secondly they'll last for ages which is always good to know as you only need the smallest amount. I do love the packaging on both these products as well there so pretty and of course look so well on my makeup shelf. I also did a full review on both these products that you can check out here and here.

Lastly I tried out a new product on my face and the was the NYX Dewy Finish setting spray. I love a good old setting spray it has to be said. I like how it holds my makeup in place and makes it look fresh. This spray in particular gives a nice dewy finish so it looks like your glowing from within. My skin can look dull some times so this is exactly what I need. As you already know I'm a huge fan of NYX and their affordbale products and this was not different it was only €10 which is really good when you consider the prices of some setting sprays on the market at the moment.

So that's my finished makeup look, again another quick and easy one. All the products are great to work with and I'm glad I splurged on one or two. I really enjoy doing these makeup look posts and I really hope you do to.

The Lo Down - Fulfil Nutrition Protein Bars

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As I'm in the currently well into my fitness journey I like finding healthy foods that will aid my weightloss and fitness journey. I tried this protein bars a while ago and I was hooked there soo yummy and it's even better that there good for you. As I'm doing my weightloss journey I don't like eating bars but I definitely don't feel as guilty when I eat these.
There is lots of different flavours to choose from but my favourite is White Chocolate & Cookie Dough, doesn't it sound yummy? These bars are so filling, sometimes I have one instead of a meal as I just feel so full after one. You wouldn't believe there's 20g of protein in this little bar. My boyfriend and brother also love these, I'm pretty sure I got my boyfriend hooked on these aswell whoops. They aren't too expensive either they are under the €3 mark which is pretty good.
I  also have one of these in my bags for a snack if I'm hungry on the go, there perfect for that. I'd definitely recommend these if you are on the look out for a nice healthy snack. I don't particularly like the taste of protein but you can hardly taste them off these which is good.

The Lo Down - Fantastic and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As you probably know already I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter and Wizarding World related, I seriously can't get enough. I was so excited when they brought out Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. I own the Comic Relief book they brought out a couple of years ago but it is nothing like the book. I finished this in a few days as it is short and sweet.
I thoroughly enjoyed drifting off into the Magical Wizarding World again, this book focuses on Newt Scamander, a explorer and magizoologist who is on his way to New York with a case of magical creatures. He plans his stay to be brief but when his case is misplaced he has to go and find all his rare magical creatures.

This book is done as a screenplay and is different to Harry Potter books as it takes place across the big pond in the United States. I really enjoyed reading it, I love reading how the relationships built between the characters in the book. Newt Scamander is probably one of my favourite characters from the all the J.K. Rowling books to date, he's quite different to all the others and that's what I like about him.

I hope they bring out another book in this series for sure as I know I'd definitely read it. I enjoyed going back into the Wizard World again, I seriously didn't want to leave this time.

The Lo Down - How I met my Boyfriend!

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As you all know I have an amazing boyfriend named Daragh, he's like my best friend and I don't know what I'd do without him most of the time. I don't think I ever told you guys how we met so I thought I'd do a post to tell you all. So let's go back to the beginning.
In 2014 my ex boyfriend and I decided to call it quits on our 6 year relationship. Lots was going on and we both thought it was for the best. I think you all know by now I didn't have the best of times after this as you have probably seen documented on my blog already. Let's just say I felt very alone for a while. Of course I had my friends but I missed having a boyfriend, I guess I'm a relationship kind of gal.

I was single for 2 years after that. I did go on a odd date here and there, that's exactly what they were odd! I met the guys on Tinder which is an app if  I'm completely honest I wasn't too keen on to start with considering some of the messages I got and I bet you can guess what they said. So yeah Tinder definitely wasn't my favourite app in the world, don't get me wrong I did meet some nice guys here and there but nobody I would have wanted to get in a relationship with to be fair.

In February last year I started talking to Daragh. I started the conversation and we got talking. I instantly realised how different he was to the other guys I had been talking to previously. We just clicked and spent alot of time talking to each other. We had some stuff in common which was nice aswell. Both of us have a keen interest in football and love travelling.

Unfortunately Daragh and I didn't meet up that soon after we started talking so after a while I started seeing someone else. Out of the blue one day I got a call from a number I didn't recognise and it was Daragh of all people. I'm not going to lie I was completely surprised. We chatted for a while but of course I had to tell him I was seeing somebody and I could hear the disappointment in his voice. So we said our goodbyes and that was that for a while that is. A couple of weeks later my relationship finished before it really got started if I can say that. I saw it coming and to be honest that particular relationship wasn't really for me at that time.

Daragh and I started talking again soon after and he asked me out on a date. I was really excited as we both had started talking to each other in February and it was now June so I was surprised he even remember me but he did. We decided to meet up and go to The Living Room which is a bar in the City Centre in Dublin. I'm not going to lie I was pretty nervous and I think Daragh was aswell. I was after coming from a makeup course that evening so I had the brightest pink eyeshadow on so I don't think that helped the nerves either.

We met up at the spire and had a couple of drinks in The Living Room. It was such a good night and both of us enjoyed as we were talking to each other for so long previous to meeting up it was like we already knew each other in a way. Daragh walked me to my bus stop and ran for his train but before he went he said he'd love to bring me out again and I said I'd love to.

Our second date was going to a Dublin Gaelic game. Yes Daragh is a bit GAA mad he loves going to the games in Croke Park. I'd never been before but I really enjoyed myself and the atmosphere was amazing. I'd watched Gaelic on the telly before so I knew the rules and how the game itself was played. Dublin won so we were both happy and we went for a few drinks afterwards.

After our fourth date which was watching the Euro 2016 matches, Daragh asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said Yes. Over the last few dates he had made me so happy. We can actually talk for Ireland so when we're together we talk and when I go home we have like hour long phone calls I seriously don't know how we keep the conversation going sometimes.

Fast forward 10 months and Daragh & I are still going out and extremely happy together. We have started to plan stuff for the Summer so I can't wait for a bit of an adventure. We also booked our tickets to see Damien Dempsey in the Iveagh Gardens in July so that's definitely something to lookm forward to.

So yeah my boyfriend and I met on Tinder so it definitely can work for some people. You just have to find your prince surrounded by frogs in my opinion. There can be some odd ones on that app so again just stay safe. I'm so happy I met Daragh and I really hope we go out for a long time to come.

The Lo Down - Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've finished two books in the past week, I know I'm seriously on a roll at the moment when it comes to reading. The second book I've finished is called Black Dawn by Mallory McCartney. Again this is another writer I came across on Instagram which I love for things like that. I was so excited when Mallory sent me over her book to review, I haven't actually come across it yet in Ireland and it is so good.
I literally started this book yesterday and finished it today, I really like how it's quick and easy to read. If I'm being honest I actually couldn't put this book down the story is amazing and is different to books I usually read. The story focuses on the magical and war ridden world of Keiro and three main characters Memphis, Brokk and Emory. To help Emory survive the war and evil king Adair, the boys wiped her memory and transported her to our world where she would indeed be safer.

With no knowledge of her previous, of course Emory is scared when both Memphis and Brokk turn up in her apartment and take her back to Keiro. She doesn't remember who she is and after giving her back her memories she is still pretty confused about the whole situation. She is kinda dropped in the deep end as she is the one they need to defeat King Adair in the Black Dawn rebellion and her powers aren't even fully back yet.

I'm not going to go into too much more detail as I don't want to ruin the story for you all. If you like what you've heard so far I'd definitely recommend picking up this book. It's a light read and if you haven't been reading for a while like me it's certainly a book to get you back into reading. You get transported into their world instantly and there's so many twists and turns. I also have to appreciate the cover of this book it's so eyecatching, I'm a big fan. I really like to book and I hear it's going to be a series so I can't wait to get my hands on the second one when it's released.

The Lo Down - Lisa Fitzpatrick Enjoying Style and Fashion

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As I've been losing a substantial weight over the last two months I've been reading alot of fashion related books to get some tips and tricks. One of my favourites have been Lisa Fitzpatrick's Enjoying Style & Fashion, it's soo good and so informative I love it!
Again this book is separated into easy to read sections which you all know at this stage that I like.I love the section Style Tips from the Icons, I definitely need a trench coat in my life after reading this. I also really like the section on Body and Beauty as I picked up a lot of tips and of course I'm a beauty blogger at the end of the day first and foremost. There's also a section on Consumer Rights which is always good, I haven't seen that in many books but there great to know as we are all shopaholics at heart.

I'm not too sure how much this book retails for but I presume it retails for €20 as much books like this do. I really enjoyed reading this book, it's another great one for the coffee table that's for sure. I love the imagery and it was such a interesting read. I'm looking forward to reading more books from Lisa Fitzpatrick soon.

The Lo Down - Catrice Soft Blossom Nail Polish

 Hey Guys and Dolls,

I haven't been doing my using my nail polish too much as of late as my nails haven't been in the best condition but that changed when the Catrice Soft Blosson nail polishes appeared in my letterbox.
These nail polishes come in different shades and they all look so pretty. I was sent the shades Flower Berry Bouquet and Coachella Vibes, two pretty pink shades that I adore. They would look amazing with tan or without during the Spring Summer months. I know I'll be using them alot, pinks are my favourite. I'm not too sure how many shades are in this collection but the two I've tried are beautiful. These polishes are said to have a scent and different to other polishes on the market you can actually smell it. In the picture below I used the shade, Flower Berry Bouquet and I love it, you literally need only one coat.
I'd definitely recommend checking them out the next time your near a Catrice counter.

The Lo Down - So Su Pro Blender and Complexion Sponge

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've never used a Beauty Blender before, ok I said it I know a crazy statement for a beauty blogger to admit but I've just always used makeup brushes to apply my makeup. I don't know it's like I just almost prefer them to sponges for some reason.
That changed over the weekend when my Mum went to Suzanne Jackson's Workshop last weekend and received an amazing goody bag. She gave me a couple of bits out of it and that included the Pro Blender and Complexion Sponge. I was intrigued and excited to give this little product a whirl.

To be quite honest I've used this everyday since my Mum gave it to me I love it and I'm definitely a fan. I really like how it applies my makeup so flawlessly and with minimal effort on my part. As I was told to do I dampened mine with a thermal water spray before applying my foundation. I'm used this to apply other cream products like blush and bronzer aswell. I just really like the way my foundation looks after using this sponge, I don't think I've ever saw my makeup looking so good to be honest.

I don't know how this compares to the original beauty blender. From pictures I saw online they definitely do look quite similar, if not identical. I guess I'll have to purchase one myself and do a comparison. I think it would be interesting to see which one came out on top.

The Lo Down - Probably the prettiest books I own!

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As you all know I love a good book. If I'm in town with my parents I always pay a trip to Hodges & Figgis, my favourite book shop in Dublin. It's amazing if you have never been definitely go it's huge. I'll always pick up a book or two when I'm there sure it would be rude not to I think!
A while back I bought these three beautiful books and to say I'm in love with them is a understatement. The books are fairytales written by Camilla Morton and illustrated by celebrated fashion designers which I think is such an amazing idea and it was well thought about.

The result is three gorgeous books that would look gorgeous on your makeup shelf, just look how pretty the covers are! These were expensive €18 but I'm glad I purchased them and I'll definitely cherish them for years to come.

The Lo Down - Peanut Butter Press Badges

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I did a blog post a little while ago on my badge collection and yes I have alot. I love badges and I try to pick some up wherever I go in the big wide world. I bought a couple of badges recently as I actually couldn't help myself. I bought some from Peanut Butter Press, I found his page on Instagram and I couldn't get over the quality of his badges. There is so many to choose from plus he can make custom ones too so if you have any ideas that you'd like created into badges definitely let him know.
Now on to the badges I got. I got 5 in total and Peanut Butter Press threw in a extra one for me which was so thoughtful of him I was delighted. Firstly I wanted Cat in the Hat badges and he made Thing 1 and Thing 2 plus the man himself Cat in the Hat! I love them all,the attention to detail is amazing. This is one of my favourite movies from my childhood, I'm such a huge fan so to have the badges is great. I also got a Thing 1 logo which I think is so cute. Next up I got a Totoro badge as I always heard of this character and I couldn't say no to this one. It's amazing, it's probably one of my favourite badges I purchased this time around. Lastly I got a Slytherin which I adore. Again this is another one of my fave movies probably of all time. I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd that's for sure. It's done in a beautiful black and gold, it just looks so pretty.

I'm delighted with my purchases, all together they came to around €20 which isn't too bad for six badges. Peanut Butter Press is my go to guy for badges and I know I'll definitely buy some more soon, I may have already made a sneaky order today.

The Lo Down - Pixiwoo Faces

Hey Guys and Dolls,

A book I got over Christmas was Pixiwoos Faces. My boyfriend bought it for me on Amazon as one of my many Christmas presents, Daragh really is the best boyfriend I seriously love him to pieces. He even takes a interest in beauty stuff so he's definitely a keeper that's for sure. Back to the book, I was really excited when I heard the Pixiwoo sisters Sam and Nic were bringing out a book so I knew I definitely had to get my hands on it. I've been watching the girls YouTube videos for years and I love them both, there amazing!
So the book itself is hardback which I really like when it comes to beauty books for some reason. This book is so beautifully written I'm a huge fan of it I have to say. Am I the only one who likes the smell of a new book by the way? The book opens with a introduction and biographies on the girls which I found really interesting indeed. I loved the section on eyes the most as I'm always trying to make my peepers look amazing so this book helped that little bit more which is welcome. Faces is separated into easy to read sections with sections covering tools, skin, eyes etc plus a Q&A you can rest assured that everything is covered in this and not a stone is left unturned. When you purchase this book you can download a free app with exclusive content which is a pretty fun cool idea.

I really enjoyed reading this book, my Beauty book collection is definitely getting big now and I'm delighted about that. This was so amazing and I hope this is the first of many books by these incredibly talented sisters.

The Lo Down - Seavite Super Nutrient Head to Toe Travel Kit

Hey Guy and Dolls,

I was pretty much unfamiliar with the skincare brand Seavite a couple of weeks ago, that was until I got the opportunity to try some of their products. I did a background post on the brand which you can find here if you'd like to get the history of the brand.
I was really impressed with this brand, this little kit is so amazing it would be amazing for travelling or if your new to the brand a opportunity to try their lovely products. Included in this kit is 5 products and I'm on love with them all. I particularly like the Soothing & Replenishing Face Cream and the Super Nutrient Firming and Toning Body Lotion, they work amazingly well and they both smell incredible. It's also really nice to find a beautiful Irish brand like this, we seriously don't have enough so it's great to be able to support a homegrown brand.
The Seavite Super Nutrient Head to Toe Travel Kit retails for €47.50 which isn't bad at all as these travel kits can be very expensive sometimes. I really enjoyed using these products and I'd definitely recommend them.

The Lo Down - Penneys/Primark Makeup Bags

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Today I took a trip to Penneys in Nutgrove to see if there was anything I'd like to buy, of course I had my eye on a makeup bag that I had saw in Dundrum not too long ago. I'm also intrigued to try the Penneys skincare range, I wonder is it any good. Going by the prices if this range was good it would be amazing.
I spotted the makeup bag I wanted so of course I couldn't leave the shop without it. It cost €5 which is pretty good. It's more like a wash bag then a makeup bag but I'm going to use it to store all my beauty products. It's a cream and baby pink makeup bag and it says Wake Up and Make Up across the front and I really like it. It's such a good size and I'm sure it will fit lots of my products. I have lots of makeup bags but I don't think you can ever really have too many in my opinion. This makeup bag is also wipe clean so it's perfect for storing makeup.

The other makeup bag I got is a alot smaller so I thought this would be good for inside my handbag to throw all my products that are currently hiding at the bottom of my page. I have a notebook from Penneys that has the same design as this makeup bag and I love it. This costs €3 so I kinda had to get it.

The Lo Down - Too Faced & Kat Von D Better Together Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I recently bought the Too Face & Kat Von D Better Together eyeshadow palette, ever since I saw this collaboration I knew I had to get it. I was intrigued by all the products so in the end I bought the eyeshadow palette and I'm very happy with my purchase.
I have seen mixed reviews on this palette but I'm fairly impressed with it. The collaboration was well thought out and it's such a good idea to have brought these two amazing brands together. I've never tried any Kat Von D products so I was really looking forward to trying their products.
The eyeshadow palette is just amazing it's shaped like a heart and is magnetic so can be separated which is such a good idea for travel and if you want to fit it in your makeup bag as when it's together it could be a bit impractical. There are six shadows in both palette which totally different shade ranges, the Kat Von D side is definitely that little more daring in my opinion. All the shadows are so pigmented except for the shade Lovely in the Too Faced palette which was kind of disappointing.
I don't have a favourite side as I've been drawn towards both. I love a neutral eye look so I've been using the Too Faced side that little bit more. I love the shades, Friendspiration and Power Couple. The latter is amazing blended into the crease while the other shadow looks perfect all over the lid.
I love how there is a little message on the inside of both palettes, it's just  a extra special touch. The palette itself retails for €68 on Debenhams website which isn't too bad considering you get a full sized mascara and liner. If you are a fan of both these brands I'd definitely recommend picking up this palette it's such a nice addition to my makeup collection, having never tried Kat Von D products I can't wait to try more in the future.

The Lo Down - Six Nations Ireland v England

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Ireland had a big match today against England, the latter already won the Six Nations but they were on a winning game with 19 games won so Ireland were trying to knock them off their pedestal. There is always good banter and great atmosphere when these two teams clash and today was no different.
I really wanted to go to this match, of course I couldn't get tickets but there's always next year. Ireland had such a great game and they worked so well as a team, it was end to end stuff. The match took place at the Aviva Stadium in Lansdowne Roads, our fortress where we always expect amazing results and usually get them aswell.

Ireland went on to win the match 13-9 with a try which followed with the conversion and two penalties from Jonathan Sexton. Ireland stopped England record 20 game winning streak in its tracks. With Patrick's Day and this I have to say this is a weekend where I'm so so proud to be Irish. We produce some world class players and that was evident today if you saw the match. After alot of are good players retired some people thought that was it for Ireland but lots of new and exciting players have made it through the ranks and have made watching rugby enjoyable. Peter O'Mahony went on to receive Man of the Match which was well deserved as he had an incredible day.

We may not have won the Six Nations but the Ireland team definitely redeemed themselves after their last game which was a defeat against Wales. I'm looking forward to seeing Ireland in action in more upcoming rugby matches.

The Lo Down - The Chainsmokers & Coldplay

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I love the band The Chainsmokers. They came out of nowhere in the past year or so and they're really killing it. All their singles have been top notch in particular Paris and Closer, I really like them both. I don't know if I'd dance to them unless I was out and about but I love singing along to them.
I love their latest song Something Just Like This which features Coldplay another favourite band of mine. I love them so much, I've been to see them twice once in Manchester and then in Dublin on the Viva La Vida Tour. Both gigs were unreal but my favourite had to be the one in Manchester as it was in the cricket ground and the atmosphere was amazing. It was probably one of the best gigs I've ever been too yet.

There new collaboration lives up to my expectations and I always play it on repeat, I love it! I believe for me it about being in a relationship and knowing they don't have to be perfect as everyone has flashes. I hope The Chainsmokers play a gig in Dublin this Summer as I'd love to go and see them live as I think their gigs would be unreal. I know Coldplay is playing over here in Croke Park but tickets were like golddust and being sold for alot over that so I don't really have a hope there. The Chainsmokers album is coming out in April I believe so I can't wait for that I'm expecting really good things.

The Lo Down - My Experience in a Mental Health Hospital

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Some of you may know I spent some time in a mental hospital in 2014. I was at the lowest point in my life after losing a loved one and coming out of a six year relationship, things were hard so I couldn't deal with day to day life anymore.
Life in a mental hospital was different to anything I'd ever experienced before it was a controlled environment with 24 hour supervision so it was definitely almost too much to handle at the start. All your belonging were checked too make sure there was nothing to jeopardise your safety. After a couple of weeks I got used to the routine of going to therapy and classes so I was doing good. I enjoyed the classes and they helped alot.

I was admitted to hospital twice in a two year period for things I don't want to go into so i won't go into it. I think my stay there really helped me alot though I made amazing friends that are going to be my friends for life. If anyone is reading this who may be in the same situation as me then may not want to go into hospital, I know I didn't but once you settle in it seriously is fine and one of the best decisions I made in my life though it was extremely difficuly.

As there are pretty strict visiting times I missed my family and friends alot. I still have my bad days where I get anxiety and feel depressed but I know with the support I have around me i'll get through whatever curveball life throws at me. I don't know what I'd do without those two people in the picture above, my wonderful parents they mean the world to me and are always there for me no matter what.

I hope this post helps any of you that are going through a hard time just remember someone is always there for you.

The Lo Down - Taking a Chance by Becky Monson

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I love instagram, it's such an amazing little app and I use it all the time. I have my own account(@allmadeup21) and post regularly everyday. As you all know I love to read, I'd read just about anything to be honest, you can find such an array of different genre of books in my collection. That's another reason why I love Instagram I can find a tonne of new authors to me and Becky Monson. I came across her lovely page (@bmonsonauthor) after she liked one of my posts and we got chatting about her books.
Becky has five books in total including a novella and I was so lucky that she sent me four to review. I love finding new authors that I haven't heard of before as it makes reading their books more exciting I feel. The first book I started reading was the novella called Taking a Chance and I loved it.

This book contains 57 pages so if your looking for a easy read on a chilled out day this is definitely one to go for. Taking a Chance revolves around two characters Liza and Jay Sanders who meet when Liza is having a bit of a breakdown going up the Empire State Building elevator. She has a fear of heights and of course elevators so the two together are not a perfect match. Jay starts talking to her and decides to help her overcome hear fear. I'm not going to tell you anything else as I don't want to give anything away but this is such a good little story. It's so enjoyable, I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down, I've actually read two books in the last couple of days, I'm on a role at the moment.

I'd definitely recommend picking up this novella you won't regret it, you can get it in paperback or on your Kindle on Amazon. I've already started another book by Becky, Thirty-Two Going On Spinster and I can't wait to see what it's like. I'll definitely put up a review of it aswell soon.

The Lo Down - Beauty and The Beast

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I grew up watching Beauty and the Beast, it was one of my favourite childhood movies I loved it. I must of watched it a million times I was totally in love with the story. When I heard that Disney where bringing out a live action movie starring Emma Watson from Harry Potter and Dan Stevens from Harry Potter I knew I had to go and see it.
Tonight me and my lovely Mum went to see Beauty and the Beast at Movie @ Dundrum, my local cinema and we were both so excited. We'd been both looking forward to seeing this ever since we heard it was being released. Lets just say we weren't disappointed, it was indeed magical.

From start to finish my eyes were glued to the screen. It was so beautifully done and I couldn't of picked a better Belle, Emma Watson was amazing. My favourite characters in Beauty and the Beast are Lumiere and Cogsworth and I just adored them in this movie. I'm actually getting pins made of them both and I'm going to buy the cuddly toys from the Disney shop to add to my collection as I know they'd make me so happy. I know there going to be expensive but there definitely worth it in my opinion. I love the songs in Beauty and the Beast, there it actually a couple of good new ones in this movie aswell.

Should you go and see the new Beauty and the Beast? Of course it's amazing and both my Mum and I thoroughly amazing. It stayed true to the original storyline plus you'd seriously regret it if you didn't go and see it.

The Lo Down - Pieta House Masked Till Midnight Masquerade Ball

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I came across an event recently that is close to my heart so I had to tell you guys about it. Pieta House is a non profit organisation providing a specialised treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideation and those who engage in self harm.
Pieta House opened its doors a decade ago in Lucan Co.Dublin. It has helped over 20,000 people over the years and they do such an amazing job. Since opening they have launched another 3 centres in Dublin and 5 throughout the rest of the country. The work they do is phenomenal and is free of charge so they rely alot on support and volunteers. That's where you guys come in.
On Friday 31st of March, Pieta House is holding their Masked Til Midnight ball. With entertainment on the night from the Irish Rat Pack and a DJ, it's sure to be an amazing night. You will receive a welcome drink on arrival and there will be yummy street food served throughout the night. They also hold the annual Darkness into Light Run/Walk on Saturday 6th of May. It's actually celebrating it's nineth year this year. This event takes place in the small hours of the morning and is held in over 100 venues nationally and internationally. I haven't taken part yet but I definitely want to get involved this year. I had pretty bad mental health a few years back and work like this really helped me overcome it plus I know alot of people in my life who were affected by suicide.

The Pieta House Masked Til Midnight Masquerade Ball is being held in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and the tickets cost €75. Tickets for the night can be bought here. It is sure to be a good night with all proceeds going to the wonderful Pieta House. They would love your support on the night. I'm hopefully going along on the night so I hope to see some of you there.
