China Glaze All That Glitters Festive Set

I'm sure this will be the first of many festive posts, I know it's a bit early but I don't care cause I love Christmas. Winter is definitely my favourite season even though I have to admit I hate the cold. In the coming weeks I'm going to start a Christmas series like I did last year but until then I thought I'd start of by showing you one of my recent purchases. Like alot of people I pull out the glitter polishes the minute Winter is on our doorsteps. I have plenty as it is but that didn't stop me from picking up China Glaze's All That Glitters Nail Polish set on a recent shopping with my blogger friend Sian. I seriously love this girl's fashion blog, Forever Fabulous in Bows, I want her wardrobe!! We did do alot of shopping when we met up in town and I'm sure I'll have lots of reviews up on the goodies I bought soon.

Back to the product at hand the China Glaze set, I remember buying their minis set last year and I really liking it so I decided to snap one up this time around too. It wasn't quite a big splurge at around the €10 mark for four decent sized polishes it certainly wasn't breaking the bank at all. There is great choice in this set, with a red/gold glitter polish (Pure Joy), a multi coloured affair (Glitter All The Way) plus a gold (Angel Wings) and rose gold (Champagne Kisses)offerings. This wasn't the only mini set you could go for, I do believe there was another combination of colours too. As I only bought this set last week I've only tried one of the four polishes, the gold glitter offering Angel Wings. I'm not going to lie I wasn't too impressed with this one. Firstly the shade isn't all that, it's quite dull looking as you will see in the swatches below. I also find when the polish dries it leaves a very gritty finish on the nails. Saying that though I didn't use a Top Coat so this many fix the problem and it is a glitter polish so what did I really expect. I do really like this set though as all the shades are very festive so I'll definitely be on the hunt for a good topcoat to use with them. I wouldn't wear these without one as they do peel off the nails rather quick too, I got at least 2 days chip-free so it wasn't the worst I guess. I will do a few more posts featuring the other remaining polishes from the set letting you know how I got on with them. Sally's have a 3 for 2 on the majority of their Christmas sets at the moment so I may sneak in and by some more bits soon for Christmas presents and the like.

What do you think of this set? Is there any nail polishes you currently have your eye on?

OPI Sunny Fingers & Toes

After reading through my past nail polish posts, you probably all know how much I love OPI mini sets. I've bought a couple over the last few months which I'm hoping to do a post on soon, I have so many products I want to feature sometimes bits can get left behind. One set in particular that has stood out for me though was my most recent purchase OPI's Sunny Fingers & Toes. I spotted this first on BeautyBay.com and fell in love with it, sadly I couldn't say the same for the price tag (€29.80) so I decided to leave it. Last week I popped into Sally's in town, I  was delighted when I seen this exact set and even more so when the sales assistant told me it was €23.99. It's not a huge saving but it certainly helps, you can't really put your nose up at ten polishes for that price can you?

With a great selection of polishes from light to dark shades, there's something to suit everyone in this one. I'm already in love with Dutch-Ya Just Love OPI, it's a gorgeous dark purple with a hint of gold shimmer. As always with OPI sets, there are a few polishes that have come up in other sets before so if that's something that bothers you keep that in mind. I personally don't as I always keep them up and put them in gifts for friends at Christmas and Birthdays. This set also contains a selection of polishes from ranges such as The Amazing Spiderman and Holland Collection so if you missed out on either of these this set is one to have a look at. I'm going to try and do some nails of the day posts containing these soon so be sure to check back. Dutch-Ya Just Love OPI will certainly be one of the ones I want to show you guys. In my opinion OPI's Sunny Fingers & Toes is definitely a set for someone who is obsessed with nail polish or wants to try out some new shades without spending a small fortune. Being a little nail polish obsessed myself I already have my eye on the Outrageous Neons Mini Set, the shade selection is definitely down my street so don't be surprised if you see it on here very soon.

Will you be checking out Sunny Fingers & Toes? What polishes would you like to see in future NOTD posts?

Essie Spring Mini Collection 2012

I don't have any Essie nail polishes in my collection. When I seen this mini set on Beautybay.com I wanted it to be my first purchase from the brand. If you've read my blog for a while now you'll know I hardly ever buy full size nail polishes. I just could never see myself finishing one so I always find myself buying mini sets.

This arrived in the post this morning and I've fallen in love already. The set contains four polishes from the Essie Spring 2012 collection. They are lovely and bright shades which will be perfect for Summer too.

Navigate Her - "A beautifully creamy Pistachio shade"
Ole Caliente - "A bold scarlet with fuchsia undertones"
Tour De Finance - "A pearly fuchsia pink"
To Buy Or Not To Buy - "A shimmering lilac with subtle blue and purple sparkles"

At first glance I think my favourite shade will be To Buy Or Not To Buy, it looks so pretty in the bottle. Keep an eye out as I will be doing a NOTD in the next few days. I'm glad I bought this set, it was great value at €13.60 for four mini polishes. I can see myself rocking these shades now and during the Summer months.

What shade would you like to see first in a Nail of the Day post??

China Glaze Santa's Little Helpers

You probably all know my love for OPI mini nail polish sets. When I seen this one from China Glaze I was immediately drawn to it. I bought Santa's Little Helpers in Sallys in town almost three weeks ago. I already own one other China Glaze nail polish so I thought this set would be nice to add to my collection. These mini polishes are considerably larger at 9.6ml per bottle compared to OPI's 3.75ml. The whole set being €10.99 also meant it was better value than a OPI mini set which usually retails at €14.99.

Santa's Little Helpers set contains four gorgeous festive polishes.

Tinseltown
A grey/black base with different size chunks of silver glitter. I really like the look of this polish and I can't wait to try it.

Icicle
A silver polish with light shimmer.

Ring In The Red
Another glitter polish, this also has a light red shimmer running through it. Perfect for Christmas.

Velvet Bow
A deep red polish almost burgundy. I wasn't really drawn towards this shade. Saying that, I haven't tried it yet so I may change my mind.

Here is a Nail Of The Day using Icicle...

Two coats gave the finished effect above. I really like how it's not too much and very wearable.

What do you think of the Santa's Little Helpers set?

A Little Order From Beauty Emporium

On Cyber Monday, Beauty Emporium.ie had some great deals on. I was quite restrained and just made two purchases, one is for my sister's Christmas present which you may see in a later post. The other is this gorgeous OPI set.

OPI Best of the Best Collection contains ten of OPI's best selling polishes in mini form. You all know how much I love OPI minis so I adore this!! I may keep some of these for myself and use the rest for stocking fillers. This set would also make a amazing Christmas present for someone who isn't familiar with OPI and hasn't tried their polish before.

The set is separated into two boxes, light and dark which you can see above.

Here are the polishes that are included:
Alpine Snow, Bubble Bath, Tickle My France-y, Strawberry MargaritaCajun Shrimp

Big Apple Red, I'm Not Really A Waitress,  You Don't Know Jacques, Russian Navy, Lincoln Park After Dark

I'm glad I bought this set as it was such good value at €23. I seen OPI Best of the Best in other shops for €33 so to get it for €10 cheaper was great. My order was also shipped and delivered in two days which I was over the moon with. I think this deal is still running on Beauty Emporium so it's certainly worth having a look at!

What do you think of the OPI Best of the Best set?

OPI Muppettes Nail Polishes

I was so excited back in the Summer when I heard this collection was being released. I love the Muppets and most of my childhood was spent watching the show. I can't remember how many times my sister and I watched The Muppets Christmas Carol/ Muppets Treasure Island. I think at one point we knew all the words.  When this collection was released not too long ago I couldn't wait to have a mooch. As always I purchased the mini polishes from the collection. I hardly ever finish the large bottles so I prefer to buy the smaller bottles.

OPI Mupettes set contains four gorgeous polishes from the collection.

Wocka Wocka
A gorgeous shimmery red shade. I used two coats to get this effect. I tend to stay away from red nail polishes but I do like this one alot.

Excuse Moi
I haven't tried Rainbow Connection yet, I presume Excuse Moi is the same polish except it's pink with multi coloured glitter. I actually like wearing this on it's own more than wearing it over another polish. I also found this really easy to remove compared to some glitter polishes.

Designer.... de Better
One of my favourite nail polishes in the collection. I can see myself wearing this neutral shade alot this winter. It's a taupe shade with red flecks. I used two coats to get the above result.

Warm & Fozzie
Another favourite from this collection, I've been using Warm & Fozzie the most. It's like nothing I have in my collection. A bronze shade with bits of gold, green and copper shimmer. I adore it.

What do you think of The Muppets collection??

OPI Texas Collection-Lil Shooters

My love affair with OPI mini nail polishes continues. I always seem to buy the smaller bottle as I've never finished a big bottle let alone a mini one.

Yesterday I purchased the Lil Shooters Set from the Texas Collection. I seen this instore and couldn't pass them. I really like the colours and can't wait to try them out.

Austin-tatious Turquoise-A really gorgeous blue/green shade with a hint of shimmer.

I Vant to Be A-Lone Star-This nail polish is described as a Texas Sky Blue shade but I'd say it's more greyish pearl.

Do You Think I'm Tex-y?-This is such a nice deep pink berry shade. May become one of my favourites, we'll see.

RapiDry Top Coat-I'm really looking forward to trying this top coat out. I'm forever painting my nails and smudging them all most immediately afterwards. This is definitely much needed.

I will let everyone know my thoughts on this collection. I'm sure there will be plenty of NOTDs coming soon:)

What do you girls think of this collection??

BeautyBay.com Haul!!!:):)

Last Tuesday, I finally got my package from BeautyBay.com. The order was delayed because the product I wanted wasn't in stock and when it was finally shipped there was 2 bank holidays in a row ( 1 in England and Ireland) which in turn caused further disruption to the arrival of my package.

When I seen all my lovely products I knew it was worth the wait. When I ordered all my goodies I had a 20% discount code (Thanks to Charli!). I took full advantage of  this discount and went on a online beauty shopping spree and I got some gorgeous products. So far I've only tried out a few but I'm really impressed with what I purchased..

Firstly my package cam looking like this, it was covered with a Beauty Bay embroidered bag. I will upload a picture on a later date as I seem to have mislaid it.

I think the products inside this box are the ones that matter:)

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion
At first glance, I loved the new packaging on this product. It's so much easier to use and there is also 10% more product in this than in the old packaging!!

OPI Pirates Of The Caribbean Mini Collection
I am such a big fan of Pirates Of The Caribbean. This collection was a must:)

From L2R- Skulls & Glossbones, Planks Alot, Sparrow Me the Drama, Stranger Tides

OPI Cirque De Femme Mini Collection
All the neutral shades in this collection are gorgeous. I can't wait to try them all out!!:)

L2R- I Juggle...Men, So Many Clowns So Little Time, In The Spot-Light Pink, Step Right Up!

Too Faced Look Of Love Spring Makeup Collection 2011
I got this collection as I love Too Faced products. Sadly their not available in Ireland anymore, When I seen this beautiful set I'm glad I got my hands on it. You get so much value for money with this set believe me!!:)

L2R- Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer, Lash Injection Mascara, Look Of Love Compact, Deluxe Primed & Poreless Primer, Flatbuki Brush, Glamour Gloss

I've been so busy lately that I've only been able to use 2 products from this collection so far, Look Of Love Compact and the Glamour Gloss!!! My verdict- I adore them.

The 2 eyeshadows you receive in this compact are "Silk Teddy" and "Totally Toasted". If you own Too Faced Natural Eye Palette you will already own "Silk Teddy". These two eyeshadows create a very natural daytime look. I  haven't used the blusher " La Vie En Rose" yet but I shall let you know when I do.

I love this lipgloss. The shade is Barely Legal and it's a lovely neutral pink shade. The packaging is so cute and girly and is very well detailed. The gloss itself contains Lip Injection Comfort Plump. I don't like lip plumpers, the ones I've tried have always not suited me. This one I can find nothing wrong with and I don't get that irritating feeling on my lips that I get with some brands.

That comes to the end of my haul from BeautyBay. I found their website to be full of good bargains as some of the products are cheaper than on counters in Ireland. If you want to check out their website I shall leave it linked below. I'm sure you'll find something you like as there are endless amounts of products to be seen.:)

Hope you enjoyed,
Laura<3
