28 Days of Kisses Tag - Day 8 = Topshop Lipstick in Pillow Talk

I'm not doing anything too exciting today, I'm going to try and get most of my college advertising assignment done. I hate leaving things til the last minute it stresses me out so I'm going to try and get it out of the way. I can't believe it's only 7 days until my birthday. I feel like I'm getting so old! I'll have enjoy the last few days of being 22! I feel like I should do something super special.Yesterday I went to the Butter London Spring Collection launch in Avoca. I had such a lovely time and the new polish shades are gorgeous. Loads of happy pastel shades which I'm sure all of you will love. It's so nice to catch up with other bloggers and get to meet some new ones too.As we walked into the event there was a big 007 style suitcase with pretty much the whole Butter London polish collection in it. I want one!! There's a picture of it below as I had to show it to you guys. The venue was so nicely decorated for the launch of the new collection, spring colours everywhere and lots of sweets. I showed super will power I'm telling you. I got three shades to try out, Kerfuffle, Cuppa and Jasper. One of the things I love about this brand is the quirky shade names.

Here's some snaps I took at the launch...

After the event Sian and I headed into Boots. Of course I couldn't leave without buying something, I think I seriously have a shopping problem. I picked up the new Maybelline The Rocket mascara. This product has been raved about at the moment so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I'll let you guys know if it lives up to the hype. I love mascaras, I'm always on the lookout for a new one to try. I convinced Sian to buy one of these aswell so it will be interesting to see what she thinks of it too.
As you can see in the picture above, I also picked up some new Essence bits yesterday. I love this brand, their products are so affordable which is great for students like me. I got a concealer duo and three of their new 3D eyeshadows. I love the shade names, they're so  fun! I went for pretty neutral all round colours as I know I'd get more use out of them compared to the other shades available. If you would like to see a review on these products let me know.
Today I'm using another Topshop lipstick on my lips. Pillow Talk is a gorgeous baby pink shade which has a glossy finish on the lips. I will say this though if you have dry lips Pillow Talk does show up all the dry patches. This isn't too good for people like me who get dry lips regularly. I like the packaging on this particular lipstick as it's quite different to the original tubes. I think it was brought out in their 2011 Autumn Winter collection, I know I've had this for quite a long time indeed! Like I said in one of my previous 28 Kisses post, I'd love to pick up some more Topshop lippies soon. I might be brave and pick up a vibrant shade, hmmm Infrared or Bright Rock. There's way too much choice for me how can I possibly decide. After looking through my makeup collection, I realised I bought a Topshop eyeshadow trio last year. It's the Atmosphere palette which is still available online and it's what I'm wearing on my eyes in the picture above. I totally forgot all about and it contains such a nice selection of  well pigmented shades. I haven't tried any of the other eyeshadow palettes from the range so I don't know if there good but I do love this one.

Have you tried anything from Topshop's makeup range?

28 Days of Kisses Tag - Day 4 =Topshop Lipstick in Innocent

Today is another freezing day here in Dublin. The sun is shining but as they say don't let that fool you.  I feel like this everyday lip tag has turned into a bit of a update from me. I actually really like that as I can tell you guys what I've been getting up to and the like. What do you guys think?! I've been pretty busy today, I have so much college assignments to do at the moment. Tonight is my first time back in college since my surgery and I feel like I have a lot to catch up on. I don't think I'm too far behind though which is the main thing. The assignment I'm working on at the moment is for Advertising and I'm finding it really interesting so far. The maximum I need to write is a 2000 words which I think is very doable indeed. I have about 3 weeks to do it so I better get cracking on it. I received some products today that I ordered from Debenhams and Cloud10Beauty. I'm going to do a post on what I got soon. I only have four items though so I'm going to wait for a while and maybe do a small collective haul of sorts. I'm really pleased with what I bought though which is of course all beauty related.
First off excuse my frizzy afro, I know it's shocking! I'm getting my stitches removed tomorrow and I didn't want to use any heating tools on my hair just in case I aggravated my scalp. For some reason my hair has a reddish tint in the picture above. I got highlights in my hair years, like when I was back in school which was about 5 years ago now. Ever since I've been trying to dye over the highlights with brown hair colour and it always shows back up for some bizarre reason. I just don't know! Anywho back to the lipstick tag, today I used one of my many Topshop lipsticks, Innocent. I bought this a while ago and I seriously haven't given it enough love. It's described as pale pink online and I would agree. I would of said that I wasn't in my comfort zone wearing this shade a while back but it's not too daring and I've grown to like it. On my eyes I'm using some shadows from the Sleek Ultra Mattes Darks Palette which was one of the products I ordered from Cloud10Beauty. I was really impressed with this palette as the shadows are well pigmented and they blend nicely. I also like how the shade have names which I feel is needed with the MUA palettes. I really love Topshop lipsticks, they're such good quality. I already have my eyes on two more shades, Rumour Has It & Macaroon. If I do end up buying them you know they'll definitely make an appearance on the blog soon. I've only tried the lipsticks and nail polishes from their makeup range so I'd love to hear suggestions of what I should try next. Oh before I head off to college I've been reading the new Xpose magazine and I absolutely love it! The second issue just launched last week and I'd seriously recommend picking up a copy. The magazine itself comes out monthly and at €2.50 you can't really go wrong as there's a lot of reading to get through in this. I like how all the content is split into different sections, celebrity, fashion etc so you don't have to go rooting from one end of the magazine to the other. My favourite part has to be of course the Beauty section. It's literally jam packed with new releases, brilliant reviews and steal her look pages. The latter is great and shows you how the recreate your favourite celebrity looks which I love. I already feel another shopping trip coming on!

What do you think of Topshop lipsticks? What shades have you tried already?

New Favourite Lip Combinations

When I was rummaging through my lip products during the week, I came across Revlon's Sugar Frosting lip butter and Topshop's Nevada lipstick. I haven't used either in a while for no reason other than I didn't think they worked to well on their own.

Sugar Frosting would be the lightest shade out of all the lip butters, resulting in it not being as pigmented. When I first got this I used it quite a bit, but then it found it's way back into my makeup drawer. I preferred the shades of the other lip butter I own like Macaroon and Candy Apple. While cleaning I spotted a Barry M limited edition lipgloss I got free with a Impulse body spray. As I got it as a gift, their doesn't seem to be a shade number, I looked on their website and it looks alot like Strawberry Milkshake. Together they both look gorgeous. A perfect pale pink combination for the Summer, it's like both these products were made for each other. I can see myself using both products alot as they will go with any look.  Another lip combination I've been loving is Topshop's Nevada and MUA's Out There plumping lipgloss in Nude. I loved Nevada lipstick when I first bought it but after a while I grew tired of it. It's a peachy nude shade that blanked out my lips and makes them look flat. I don't know about you but that's not the look I usually go for. I swept a bit of MUA's nude lipgloss on over it and it looks beautiful. For me it just lifts the colour a little, making it look more wearable. Being a plumping lipgloss I wasn't too sure about it at first. I've had quite bad experiences with these sort of products (Urban Decay's offering I'm looking at you), they've just really irritated my lips. This problem hasn't happened with MUA's lipgloss it slightly tingles but that's it.

Topshop's Nevada and MUA's Nude lipgloss

Revlon's Sugar Frosting & Barry M lipgloss

It just shows a little bit of gloss can make all the difference. I don't think I would of used Sugar Frosting  or Nevada if I hadn't discovered these gorgeous products to go with them. I don't particularly like using gloss as it's a given that your hair can get stuck in it, but I really like these looks so I'll let that slide.

What's your favourite lipstick/lipgloss combination?

My Recent Topshop Makeup Purchases

If you read my birthday post last week, you would of seen a picture of some purchases I made from Topshop's Makeup range. I've read so many blog posts featuring this range especially the nail polishes. There was no better time to treat myself to some new makeup than on my birthday. When I went into Topshop I noticed that there new seasonal collection was launched.  Sisters of the New Moon is the new Spring/Summer makeup collection for 2012. It consists of a magic liner (eyeliner), mascara, two lip products, four nail polishes and last but not least, nail tatoos.

I made a few purchases from this range as I seen so many nice bits and bobs.

Zodiac & Mesmerise
After seeing lots of pictures online, I'm going to go out on a whim and say Zodiac looks alot like Chanel's Graphite (possible dupe?). I could be wrong as I don't own Graphite, I would love to know your thoughts. Back to the polish, the finish seen above was achieved after just two coats. I can see myself wearing this polish alot I really like it.

Charmed & Crystal
Both lip products from this collection caught my eye. I've been using the lip tint, Crystal alot. I've bought lip tints like this before, that supposedly react to your skin to create the perfect pink shade. To be honest I've never been a fan, the pink that comes out on my lips always makes me look ridiculous. Crystal is different, I adore the finished shade as it's not too bright and looks quite natural. On the other hand I haven't gotten on as well with Charmed. It's a bright tangerine shade which isn't to my liking. I'm not one to wear vibrant lipstick so I feel like this doesn't suit me one little bit. I can't for the life of me remember why I bought it. I'm going try to find some different ways to wear it on the lips.

Innocent
This purchade was from Topshop's permanent makeup range. I saw Innocent on alot of blogs and of course feel in love. When I spotted it in Topshop while browsing, I decided I had to have it. Innocent is a really nice everyday pink shade (can't get enough of them lately). The white packaging does end up looking grubby in my bag, but this is something I can look over as it's such a beautiful lipstick.

Have you tried anything from Topshop's makeup range? What should I get next?

When she was 22....

Wooo I turned twenty two yesterday. I have to admit I'm starting to feel kinda old now. Like looking back on stuff that happened five and six years ago, I can't believe so much time has past. I had such a amazing day, I went on a little Dart adventure with Paddy and we ended up in Dun Laoghaire. The weather could of been nicer but that's what you can expect when your birthdays in February I guess.

Paddy and I on the Dart enroute to Dun Laoghaire.
A quick NOTD featuring To Buy Ot Not to Buy from the Essie Spring Collection 2012.

A couple of pictures from our trip to Dun Laoghaire. We walked the pier which actually looks really long in the picture but it only took us about 15 minutes to get to the end. On the way back it did start to rain a little thankfully we didn't get soaked. I think we may go out on the Dart more often, I hadn't been to Dun Laoghaire in about a year and I had such a amazing time. If you would like to see more posts like this with photos from our upcoming Dart journeys let me know in the comments.

Of course my birthday wouldn't of been complete without doing a bit of shopping. When I was in Topshop I seen they launched their new seasonal makeup collection, Sisters of the New Moon. Everything looked so pretty, I was very tempted to buy more. I got two nail polishes and the lip products from the new collection. When I saw the lipstick Innocent I also fell in love. It's such a beautiful shade that I can see myself wearing alot.

I got so many lovely birthday gifts off my family and boyfriend which I wasn't expecting. I was thinking of doing another post showing you what I received. If it's something your interested in seeing let me know. Also I got so many nice Birthday tweets of my Twitter which were lovely and really made my day!!
