October Favourites

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

It's time for my October Favourites. I can't believe it's a little more than a month to Christmas. Seeing all the Christmas decorations and collections in shops is making me so excited! I don't have too many favourites this month so let's get to it.

Inglot Eyeshadow D.S. 465 & Eyeshadow Pearl 397
At the start of October I bought a five square custom palette from Inglot (I shall do a overview post soon). I love their eyeshadows, not only are they amazing quality but they are also a bargain. Here are the two eyeshadows that I've been using on a regular basis from this palette. Eyeshadow D.S. 465 is the stunning shimmery brown shade. I use this in the crease and I love how it's so wearable. Even though it does have a lot of shimmer, it doesn't show up too much once blended out. Eyeshadow Pearl 397 is what I've beening using as a underbrow highlighter during the month of October. It can also been used on the lid as a part of a neutral eye look.

MAC Nubile Paint Pot
As you all know I purchased three paint points from MAC's Posh Paradise collection at the beginning of October. Nubile is the one I've been using the most, it's alot like Painterly. Unfortunately I've run out of  it recently. A more peachy shade, I use this under my eyeshadow on a regular daily. As you can see from the picture above I've already used quite a bit.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid
I do suffer alot with dry lips but during the Winter months they get even worse. I've been using the Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid for a while now. It's a lip treatment which is not only effective but also tastes amazing. The only con is the packaging as I find that the product can get stuck in it. Other than that I truly love this lip treatment and I shall definitely be repurchasing it.

OPI 'Warm & Fozzie' Nail Polish
This is one of the nail polishes for the OPI Muppet Collection. I purchased the mini OPI 'Muppettes' box and this was included. This bronze nail polish is one of my favourites from the collection. It contains tiny bits of green, gold and copper shimmer. Another must have of mine for the Winter months ahead.

Soap & Glory 'The Breakfast Scrub'
This was one of the first ever products I recommended on my blog. I love The Breakfast Scrub, this must be my fourth tub, I can't stop buying it. It has a maple syrup scent which I don't find sickly sweet. The Breakfast Scrub leaves my skin really smooth, definitely my favourite scrub of all time which is saying something.

'Candle In The Wind' Candle
My mom brought this gorgeous floral candle back for me as a gift from New York quite a while back. I never burned it until recently and I'm in love with it. Basically it's a gel candle in a glass holder, when it burns out completely the gorgeous flowers immersed in jelly remains which can be refilled with another candle. I adore the holder as it's very feminine and looks beautiful when the candle is lit on my bedside table.

What have been your favourites during the month of October? Any product recommendations?

Liz Earle Overnight Travel Kit

When I go away I always seem to bring too much travel sized products with me. Maybe it's a fear of not having enough when I'm away. When I went on my recent trip to Barcelona I brought a Liz Earle Overnight Travel Kit with me. Needless to say it had everything I needed for my weekend away.

The Overnight Travel Kit contains seven travel friendly Liz Earle products. The bag the products come in is a great size that will not take up much room in your suitcase either. If like me you tend to bring carry on luggage for a weekend away, I'm sure you'll like this.

So the products that are included in this kit are as follows..

Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 30ml
Instant Boost Skin Tonic 50ml
Skin Repair Light Moisturiser 15ml
2 Pure Muslin Cloths

 Brightening Treatment Mask 15ml
Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash 30ml
Nourishing Botanical Body Cream 30ml
 Hand Repair 15ml

There was no need to feel like I'd forgotten anything for my holidays, as all I needed was in this kit. If you haven't tried Liz Earle products in the past I'd recommend you get the Overnight Travel Kit, you can choose the moisturiser that suits your own skin which is a plus. Like me, if you tend to run out of products quickly, you can purchase refills for this kit on Liz Earle's website. Prices range from €5.50-€8.00 which I think is bargain as it saves you from having to buy the full set again. This would also be great as a gift. My Aunt seen this in my room the other day and fell in love with it. Working long hours and sometimes overnight at her job, this would be perfect for her. Definitely something that might work it's way into her Christmas stocking this year.

Liz Earle Overnight Travel Kit retails for €31.00 (£27.00) and is available to buy in Wilde and Green, Milltown or online.

A Shopaholic's Journey #8- Lush Haul

As you know from my previous posts, I absolutely adore Lush. I like how there is such a relaxed vibe in their stores and how their staff are always super friendly. I was pretty excited to see they had their Christmas products already in store the last time I went. There is a mix of old and new products this year, it was quite nice to see some of the old festive favourites back.

Snow Globe and Angel's Delight Soap
Having bought these soaps last year, I was happy to see they were back again. Snow Globe is a favourite of mine. My mom brought it back as a gift from her Christmas trip to New York. Of course I immediately fell in love with it. Smells alot like Sexy Peel from the permanent soap range. Angel's Delight is another addition that I liked last year. It smells fruity and looks very girly. Bits of gold, silver and iridescent glitter gives it an extra festive feel.

Pow Wow Lip Scrub and Celebrate Lip Tint
Above are two new Christmas lip products I couldn't wait to try. Having loved the Bubblegum Lip Scrub, I decided to give Pow Wow a go. At first, I was put off with the green colour of this product. Yet, I'm glad I purchased this lip scrub as I love it. Still I'm not a hundred percent keen on the Celebrate lip tint. When I opened the tin at first, all I could see was little gold specks all over the surface. After further investigation, I found this was supposed to give the effect of champagne and is infact edible gold lustre and more popping candy. This stuff made the lip tint look messy. After scratching the popping candy off I loved the lip tint. It leaves my lips a gorgeous shade of light pink.

Seasons Greetings Gift Set
I like Lush gift sets as they have a variety of different products that I wouldn't  normally use. I picked up this one because it was one of few to contain all shower products. I may do a individual post for this to give you a better idea of what you get inside.

Australian Igloo Scrub
As you can see I used a picture from Lush's website...you may be thinking why?! The reason is that being the complete idiot that I am, I left this near my radiator and it broke everywhere. I still used Australian Igloo in the shower and I really liked it. Inside the scrub is a blue colour which is coconut oil, it left my skin moisturised and feeling smooth. This is a product I'd recommend trying if you already like Lush sugar scrubs. Just don't leave it beside the radiator like I did.

Lustre Body Powder
Lustre is one of the new offerings from Lush's permanent range. One of sixteen new products, this in particular caught my eye. To be honest it was a bit of a nonsense buy on my part as I don't think this is something I'd use. Lustre leaves a nice gold shimmer on the skin which isn't too much, this would be great for night outs and for Halloween to make you dazzle. I'm going to give this bottle to my sister as she loves stuff like this. Hopefully she likes Lustre as much as I did.

What do you think of the new offerings from Lush?? Does anything catch your eye??

Beauty Swap With The Lovely MakeupLand2011 Part 2

I took part in a beauty swap with Chie back in July. I think swaps are such a good idea to try out different products which may not be available in your own country. We decided to do another swap not too long ago which I was very excited about as I had so much fun doing the last one. If you haven't checked out Chie's beauty channel, MakeupLand2011 I shall leave the link here. As I've said before I love her Youtube videos, they range from hauls to tutorials so I know you girls will like them too.

Recently I recieved my package in the post. Here are some of the goodies she sent me this time.

Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope Baked Duo in High Maintenance
Hard Candy Plexi Gloss Glossy Lip Shine in Mauve-Alous
Hard Candy Fox In a Box
I've never tried Hard Candy products. I would certainly pick out these products for myself I love them. Fox In a Box also looks like a great dupe for Benefit Sugarbomb.

Napoleon Perdis Set in Pretty Presto!
From Napoleon Perdis, this set is gorgeous and contains two eyeshadows, a blush, lipgloss and mascara. I would probably use this set for touch ups on nice outs. I love the neutral eyeshadows they are super pigmented .

ELF Mineral Eyeshadows
Chie sent me six mineral eyeshadows from ELF. I haven't opened them yet but I'm looking forward to trying them out. I don't have too many mineral eyeshadows in my collection. What's the best way to apply them??

ELF Brightening Eye Colour set in Day 2 Night
All these colours would make a nice day look and it's handbag size too which is great. I really like the eyeshadows that are included in this set.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Cottage Cheese
NYX Lip Pencil in Rosie Brown
I have a NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk which I recieved in a previous swap with Jenn Staz. These pencils work well as eyeshadow bases and for a pop of colour on the lid. I had my eye on Cottage Cheese so I'm glad Chie sent me it.

Liole Vita Shake Pack in Kiwi
I've never heard of the brand Liole before now. These face masks are supposed to exfoliate your skin and leave your skin soft and nourished. I'll let you know my thoughts as I use them.

Bath and Bodyworks Apple Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel
Bath and Bodyworks Scream-A-Colada Body Lotion
Hence the names you probably guessed these are Halloween themed products. I love the smell of Scream-A-Colada. It has a gorgeous coconut scent.

Slatkin & Co Candles
Wow these candles smell amazing. Chie sent me six of these so there going to last me ages. It's so hard to pick my favourite so far but if I had to pick one it would probably be Frosted Cupcake.

Thanks so much Chie for all the amazing goodies you sent me. I hope you enjoy your package too!!

NOTD- Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

I've been eyeing up this gorgeous nail polish for a while now. Yesterday I finally decided I needed it in my collection. It's a shade I can see myself wear all through the Winter months ahead.

Facets of Fuchsia is a black gel polish with fuchsia glitter (hence the name). After two coats I got the result seen in the above picture. I love this nail polish and it's one of my new favourites. Being my first ever nail polish purchase from Revlon I can certainly see myself buying more soon.

At €9.00 I think it's quite a reasonable price for such a beautiful nail polish. Happily for me I had saved up quite a lot of Boots point I didn't know about and got it for free.

What do you think of this gorgeous Autumn/Winter shade? Any other Revlon nail polishes you'd recommend?

Soap & Glory's New Makeup Range

While on Twitter recently I heard that Soap & Glory were bringing out a makeup range. I was very excited as I'm such a big fan of their products already. The Breakfast Scrub is my current favourite. I adore it, if you haven't tried it already I recommend that you do.

When I was out shopping with my mom on Friday we wandered into Boots. The new Soap & Glory makeup stand immediately caught my eye. Of course I went over to have a look at what was on offer and came away with four products from the range.

You can see that Soap & Glory went all out with this range and as always they've kept their products cute and quirky.

The Daily Double All-Day Colour Lidshadow & Linerstick Pencil in Velvet Pink/Brownie
I love the simplicity of this product. The Daily Double has your eyeshadow on one end and eyeliner on the other. I think this would be great in any girls makeup bag for a quick eye look. The colour I chose is Velvet Pink/Brownie which is a a light pink for the lid matched with a chocolate brown eyeliner. Even though  Brownie is a eyeliner I use it in the crease of my eye and I think it looks amazing for a natural look.

Super Colour Fabulipstick in Naked Beige
I love this lipstick. Unlike some lipsticks, I didn't find it drying at all as it contains shea butter. On my lips it comes up as a neutral pink shade. I can see myself repurchasing this lipstick when it runs out. It has found a place in my everyday makeup bag.

Thick & Fast Mascara in Super Jet Black
I can't say too much about this mascara at the moment cause I haven't used it as of yet. I have so many mascaras on the go that I'm going try to use up some before I open this. It is said to 'curl and lengthen lashes for fully-loaded high volume'. I'm looking forward to putting it to the test and will let you know my thoughts.

Lid Stuff in What's Nude
Out of the four products I purchased this is my favourite one. This palette contains four neutral shades, perfect for a everyday natural look. Three of the four eyeshadows are matte which I don't have too many of in my collection. The packaging is pretty and very sturdy which is a plus.

I love this makeup range from Soap & Glory. It's very different to anything out there at the minute. This factor makes me love it even more. I can't say too much about these products as I only purchased them on Friday. I think it's worth your while going to your local Boots to check out them out.

What do you think of the new Soap & Glory makeup range??

The Cutest Makeup Bag I've Ever Seen!!

Recently I went to Wilde & Green to pick up some products from Liz Earle. It's the only store in Dublin that seems to sell their range so the minute I run out I always go there.

As I made my way to the till with my purchases, I seen this adorable makeup bag.

The bag is from the UK based designer Kate Garey. It's like no other makeup bag I've seen before so I immediately fell in love with. Though being pricey at €16.95, my love of the design sold it to me.

Size wise it's fairly big and I'll be able to fit alot of products into it. I'll probably end up storing my Liz Earle products into it. As you can see above everything fits perfectly. I really like how my daily skincare is now all in the one place so it will be much easier to find everything in the morning.

Is this makeup bag your cup of tea??

Gorgeous To Go-The Beaut.ie Guide To Smart Shopping!!

On Saturday, I headed into Brown Thomas for the launch of Beaut.ie's Aisling McDermott much anticipated new book. I got to the store  half and hour before the launch and it was already buzzing with people. The atmosphere and the turnout made for an enjoyable experience.

Now for the book that everyone was waiting for... Gorgeous To Go.

The book contains lots of amazing product recommendations. From Makeup to Hair Care Essentials, there will be something for everyone in this book.  Gorgeous To Go is the perfect size for your handbag and the canary yellow cover is so beautiful.

What I love most about this book is the mixture between affordable and high end beauty buys. The small paragraphs accompanying each product makes for easy reading on the go. The book launches in bookstores this Friday 14th October and costs €12.99. I think it's a bargain for the tips and the product knowledge that you recieve. Congratulations Aisling on another amazing book!!

Will you be picking up your copy of Gorgeous To Go??

A Shopaholic's Journey #7- MAC Posh Paradise & a Lippy!

I'm in love with MAC paint pots. They can be used as a eye base or for a splash of colour all over the lid. When I seen MAC were bringing out a new collection, Posh Paradise that contained eight limited edition paint pots I had to go to my local BT2 and have a peek.

Out of the eight options I had to choose from, I left with these three beauties, Nubile, Genuine Treasure and Idyllic.

Nubile
Alot like Painterly (1st paint pot and most used) this is more peachy in colour. I would use it everyday under my eyeshadow or alone with a darker shadow in the crease. I can see this being very popular indeed.

Genuine Treasure
Not like any paint pot I've ever seen before. In my opinion it's the stand out of the collection. It's the only paint pot I've seen that contains glitter. The feel of the product is gritty which I'm sure won't be some peoples cup of tea. This is definitely going to be a sell-out and if you only want one from the collection it should be this.

Idyllic
I also fell in love with this lovely burgundy shade. A gorgeous colour for all over the lid I think. I can tell it's going to be used alot over the winter months ahead.

I picked up this lipstick from the Seasonally Supreme Lipstick collection. Supreme Style is a beautiful coral/pinky shade. Definitely a my lips but better shade. Being so wearable I can see myself wearing it everyday. The packaging also looks very sleek and fancy. I adore it.

What do you fancy out of these new collections? Don't the paint pots look fab?

September Favourites

I find it so hard to believe it's October already. I feel like such an oldie when I say this year is going so fast. It's made even worse when I see Christmas decorations instore already. Halloween has not even come around yet. I've been delayed putting up this post but it's finally here... My October Favourites!

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils No1
I bought this mascara in duty free on holidays. I love how it gives my lashes so much added volume. People in work have commented on how nice they look too. The only thing I don't like about this mascara is the price tag, that's why I waited to get it in the airport. It's definitely only a product I'd treat myself to occasionally, other than that I'd wait til my next holiday.

Clean and Clear Skin Brightening Daily Facial Scrub
I got this product in my local pharmacy after seeing it was on special for €3. It's oil-free and is also very gentle on my skin which is a plus. I've just bought my second bottle of this stuff as I'm nearly all out. It has a gorgeous citrus scent.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime
Recently when I was getting my hair done I was given a sample of Kerastase Elixir Ultime. It contains a number of oils which nourish and condition the hair. I like it as it leaves my hair smooth and super shiny. I love it because it's a multi-use product that I can use as a deep conditioner and a finishing product.

Sigma F80 Brush
I've been using this brush for a quite a while now and I adore it. I'm surprise it hasn't featured in one of my 'favourites' posts already. I don't only use this to apply my foundation, but it's also great for applying my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (YAY finally got my hands on it!) This brush blends my foundation into my skin so well and it leaves me with a flawless finish.

Liz Earle Overnight Bag
I brought this Liz Earle Overnight bag to Barcelona with me. When I go away I always tend to bring too many travel size products with me. This was perfect as it had everything I could possibly need for my trip. I will be doing a full review on this soon.

Korres Wild Rose Foundation
This is my favourite everyday foundation. I love how it looks so natural and how a little goes a long way. I just did a full review, you can check it out here.

Barcelona
This is the random favourite of the bunch. As you all know from reading recent posts, I went to Barcelona this month. I had such an amazing time in this lovely city. I wish I got to stay for longer than five days. Everything from the tourist attractions to the shopping were brilliant. I'm actually hoping to go back sometime in the New Year so watch this space.

What have you been loving in September??
