Liz Earle Sheer Gold Shimmer

Liz Earle Sheer Gold Shimmer is an all round highlighter and has a gorgeous herbal scent which I love. I like how this product comes in a tube which means I have complete control over how much of the product I use. At first when I swatched the product I thought there was a bit too much glitter. When I blended it into my skin however, I realised I need not of worried as it left me with a gorgeous soft glow. After applying this product it did leave my hands covered in shimmer, nothing that a baby wipe won't take care of so it wasn't a issue.

I hope you can see the finished result in the picture below I think I may need to invest in a better camera.

Liz Earle Sheer Gold Shimmer will not only be great for the Christmas season ahead but also for nights out and holidays, perfect for over a tan. A little goes a long way with this product so you don't need much either!

Liz Earle Sheer Gold Shimmer 50ml retails for €10.50 (£9.25) and is available to buy in Wilde & Green, Milltown or online

What do you think of the Sheer Gold Shimmer?

My Love/Hate Relationship with Eyelash Curlers

There's a  reason why I haven't use eyelasher curlers in forever. I've used lots of different brands that bloggers have called amazing, plain and simple they weren't for me at all. I have pretty long lashes so I can get away with not using curlers. Moving on to the reason why I find I can't use them, my outer lashes are so long that they get caught in the curler. I can tell you that this is not a nice feeling at all. After this of course, I abandoned all eyelash curlers from my every day makeup bag to save my lashes from unecessary pain. That is until I purchased Urban Decay The Revolution.

The Revolution Eye Lash Curler is like nothing out there at the moment. It's cageless so I don't get the unwanted tug and pull I get with normal curlers. I remember the first time seeing it instore and thinking to myself how crazy it looked as it's not your run of the mill curler.

I think the look of The Revolution will put a lot of people off but I hope that's not the case. My boyfriend's reaction to eyelash curlers has to be the funniest.. " Why would you put one of those things near your eye?" with a look of complete fear. He also said they're like something out of Saw, which I must admit is a bit over the top!!

Back to the curler itself, I love how The Revolution reaches even my small lashes and gives me such a perfect curl. I know some people found this curler hard to use at first as it's cageless. I didn't have problems at all, maybe because I curl my lashes in sections when I'm using this. This has to be the best eyelash curler I've used ever! I highly recommend this to anyone who has the same problem I do with regular eyelash curlers.

Urban Decay The Revolution costs around €20 and is available at Urban Decay counters. I think it's worth the price for such a good everyday tool and you get five refill pads so it will be a while before you need to buy a replacement!

Have you tried The Revolution?

November Favourites!

November has been one of those months I could do with forgetting as I was really sick for it. I couldn't believe how sick I got and everything happened so quickly, thankfully I'm much better now. It's less than a month until Christmas and this makes me very excited indeed. It also means I only have month to get organised and start buying more gifts for people.

Here are my favourites for November....

Slatkin & Co Homemade Cookies Candle
I really like this candle. I got it in a international beauty swap that I did with Chie (MakeupLand2011). It smells amazing and exactly like cookies. Yummy!! I wish Bath & Body Works shipped internationally because I would certainly buy more of these candles if they did.

Bliss Super-sized Lemon + Sage Body Butter
I got this way back in June. I got it for €18 at the time which is a bargain as it's usually double the price. This body butter smells so citrusy and fresh. I'm finding it great during the Winter months, as I do get very dry skin on my arms and it doesn't leave me feeling greasy. Size wise this tube is huge and I can see it lasting forever.

Sephora Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear in Beige
I got this in Barcelona in September. I've been using this Jumbo Eyeliner as a base for my eyeshadows and it blends beautifully. I wish I had more actually!

17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive
Would you believe this is my first purchase from 17? Beehive is a pinky nude shade that is so wearable. I also find the Mirror Shine formula moisturising and not drying at all. I've been using this everyday lately. I can see myself getting a few more shades from this line.

Hand Maid Antibacterial  Hand Cleansing Gel
I know this is a odd one to feature in my favourites but I always carry one of these in my bag. This hand gel doesn't have the over the top strong scent that you'd associate with most hand gels. Hand Maid smells exactly like Flake Away and has that recognisable Soap & Glory scent.

Marc Jacobs Lola Purse Spray
My mom bought me this way back in February for my birthday. She knew how much I loved Lola so she got me the purse spray which saves me throwing the full-size bottle in my bag. I love this perfumes gorgeous floral sent and how I can use it day or night. This also came with a refill and a gorgeous Marc Jacob's purse. Hoping I don't run out of this soon!!

What has been your favourite products throughout November?

November Empties!

I've only finished three products this month which I feel is a fail as two of them were mini products. Things have been certainly going downhill since I finished seven products last month.

Benefit Dandelion Blush
I love this blush it's a gorgeous light pink shade that I find suits me very well. One of these blushes lasts for ever, but I'm still kind of disappointed I used it all up. The only thing I don't like about this product is the hefty price tag of €33.50. Very expensive don't you think?

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
This has been my favourite cleanser for a while now. The minute I finished this I rushed out to buy a full sized bottle. I love how it removes every trace of my makeup, aswell as being very gentle on my skin. I did a full review on this product that you can check out here

Benefit  It's Potent! Eye Cream
This is another product I loved from Benefit. I use this before I go to bed at night and my eyes feel so refreshed the next morning. This eye cream also smells so nice which is a added plus. I'd consider buying the full size jar of  It's Potent! eye cream but again the price (€33.00) is a big factor. I may pop it on my christmas list.

What products have you finished in November?? Have you used any of these products?

Upcoming Book Release - Lindsey Kelk's "I Heart Vegas"

I'm such a big fan of Lindsey Kelk's book especially the I Heart series. I Heart New york was a free gift with Glamour magazine at the start of the year. I finished this book in a matter of days and loved it, I couldn't put it down. After purchasing I Heart Paris and Los Angeles, I couldn't wait for the next book to be released. If your a fan of romantic novels you'll definitely fall in love with this series. There is a Angela's Guide to each city at the end of the books showing you places to visit, which I think adds something special. I'm hoping to go to Paris next year so I'll definitely hit some of the spots that are mentioned in the guide. The fourth book in the series, I Heart Vegas is being released on Thurday 8th December just in time for Christmas.

After losing her job in New York, Angela Clark finds herself on a girls' weekend with her best friend Jenny in Sin City. Could it mean trouble? You know what they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what adventures they get up to in Vegas. I'm sure this will be another book that I won't be able to put down.

What's your favourite book from the I Heart series??

New NYC Products

A while back I attended a NYC event in the lovely Morrison Hotel. I was very excited to go to the event as I'm such a big fan of this brand, as it's not only affordable but also great quality. Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures of the event as I rushed straight from work across town to make it and with that left my beloved camera at home.

What I can show you is some of the products that will be hitting NYC stands this Winter.

NYC Individual Eyes Palettes in Central Park & Bryant Park (€3.99)
I love how this palette has everything to create a perfect eye look including a primer and illuminator. You can also pick a palette to suit your eye colour. The palette above are for people with green (left) and blue eyes. I love how the Individual Eyes Palette is so affordable at €3.99. I can definitely see these flying off the stands.

Showtime Glitter Eyeliners Show Time Black, Starry Blue Sky, Paparazzi Purple, Stardust Turquoise (€1.79)
I'm not one to use eyeliners as I have quite watery eyes, I tend to stick to gel liners. I do love these sparkly eyeliners as I don't seem to have that problem. Containing specks of glitter, I think they will be great for the Christmas party season ahead.

Blushable Creme Stick in Big Apple Blush (€3.49)
I've never used a blush stick before so I couldn't wait to try this out. Big Apple Blush is a gorgeous pink shade and blends so easily into the skin. I just swipe a bit of the Creme Stick on both cheeks and blend it in with my fingers. Woola done, couldn't be easier. This is also the perfect size for your handbag if you don't want to chug alot of makeup around with you. A little goes along way with this Creme Stick so I  can see it lasting a long time.

Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain in Forever Freesia & Persistent Pink (€3.99)
This is the only product I haven't got the chance to try yet. The reason being is that my lips have been in such a state lately. The minute Winter comes rolling in, my lips become so dry and chapped which is not attractive. So with that said, I'm sticking with lip balms. Forever Freesia is a lovely freesia pink shade which I think will look really well during the Winter months. Persistent Pink is a lighter pink shade. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this looks on the lips!

What do you think of the latest NYC products to hit our shores?

Winter Woolies

With the cold Winter weather  fast approaching, I went to my local Accessorize to stock up on some Winter essentials.

I love the Winter woolies from Accessorize, they are super girlie and fun. Recently I purchased this gorgeous scarf and the matching fingerless gloves/mittens. They are also available in a cream colour with bright pink designs. Knowing me I would probably end up getting the lighter colour filthy so I stuck with the grey. I'll get plenty of wear out of these as I'm sure this Winter will certainly be another cold one. I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll be getting more snow this year, I love the snow but it did turn into a bit of a nightmare. I'm happy with my purchases, I'm sure this combination will go with everything and add something extra to my outfits.

No7 Midnight Enchantment Collection

Midnight Enchantment is No7's Winter Collection for 2011. When I seen it in my local Boots I was immediately drawn towards it. There was so much to choose from in this Limited Edition collection, so I narrowed my purchases down to two products.

One of the things that attracted me to this collection was the gorgeous packaging. Although, it does shy away from No7's regular packaging, what you get instead is gorgeous black sleek packaging with a flower embellishment.

Midnight Enchantment Blush
The stand out of the collection in my opinion is the Midnight Enchantment Blush. I actually bought the last one at my local counter. This blush is almost too pretty to use. With the same flower design as the outer packaging, It has three shades that you can swirl together or use individually. I think the white shade would work really well as a highlighter on the eyes and cheek.

Midnight Enchantment Eye Palette
The other product that caught my eye from this collection is the Midnight Enchantment Eye Palette. I love purple eyeshadows especially for night time so I immediately fell in love with this eye palette. It's small enough to fit in my makeup bag for touch ups, plus it's sturdy which means no opening and making a mess everywhere. There are four shades in this palette that I've swatched for you below.

Both of these products are €18.50(£13.00) which I don't think is too bad. I luckily had two No7 vouchers floating around my bag waiting to be used. I got these two products for €22 which meant a whopping €15 saving. If you have vouchers lying around, I think you should use them on this collection as they won't be wasted. Being Limited Edition, these pretties are sure to sell out fast.

What are you drawn to from No7's Midnight Enchantment Collection??

OPI Muppettes Nail Polishes

I was so excited back in the Summer when I heard this collection was being released. I love the Muppets and most of my childhood was spent watching the show. I can't remember how many times my sister and I watched The Muppets Christmas Carol/ Muppets Treasure Island. I think at one point we knew all the words.  When this collection was released not too long ago I couldn't wait to have a mooch. As always I purchased the mini polishes from the collection. I hardly ever finish the large bottles so I prefer to buy the smaller bottles.

OPI Mupettes set contains four gorgeous polishes from the collection.

Wocka Wocka
A gorgeous shimmery red shade. I used two coats to get this effect. I tend to stay away from red nail polishes but I do like this one alot.

Excuse Moi
I haven't tried Rainbow Connection yet, I presume Excuse Moi is the same polish except it's pink with multi coloured glitter. I actually like wearing this on it's own more than wearing it over another polish. I also found this really easy to remove compared to some glitter polishes.

Designer.... de Better
One of my favourite nail polishes in the collection. I can see myself wearing this neutral shade alot this winter. It's a taupe shade with red flecks. I used two coats to get the above result.

Warm & Fozzie
Another favourite from this collection, I've been using Warm & Fozzie the most. It's like nothing I have in my collection. A bronze shade with bits of gold, green and copper shimmer. I adore it.

What do you think of The Muppets collection??

Seasons Greetings

Back in my Lush Haul post I mentioned this Christmas set, Seasons Greetings. I thought it would be a good idea to show everyone what you get inside it. If your thinking of getting this for yourself or for  a special someone this Christmas keep reading.

Seasons Greetings contains six shower products, if your like me and don't have a bath in your house this set is one to look out for. Everything is aimed at people with dry and sensitive skin. As I use to suffer from psoriasis, I have dry patches on my arms and legs I thought this set would be perfect for me.

Here is what you get.....

Dreamwash Shower Smoothie 100g & Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion 100g
I've heard alot of people with dry skin swear by this Lush combination so I couldn't wait to give them a go. Both products have a light herbal scent which some people may not be fans of. Dreamwash is a thick shower wash. The consistency reminds me alot of Sudocream for some reason, I'm thinking probably because of the thickness. While on the other hand Dream Cream is a light body lotion, the smallest amount of product leaves me skin ever so soft. I can see myself repurchasing these when I run out.

Creamed Almond and Coconut Smoothie 100g
This is the only product I've used previously in this set. Creamed Almond & Coconut Smoothie is a light creamy shower soap that leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised. I love the scent of this, it smells just like Vanilla! I've heard rumours that this is being discontinued, really hoping it's not true. If  it's the case I'm certainly going to stock up on these the next time I'm in Lush for sure. One of my favourite products by far.

Snowcake Soap
This is the only Limited Edition Christmas product in this set. Not my favourite Christmas Lush soap to be honest I much prefer SnowglobeSnowcake smells like marzipan which may appeal to some people just not to me. It is partially coated in gold shimmer though which is very cute.

Therapy Massage Bar
I've used quite a few Lush Massage Bars. After warming between my hands this product melted into my skin. I do feel that it can be messy to use as it can leave your hands feeling greasy so I've been using this at night. All in all Therapy Massage Bar did leave my skin moisturised so I guess I can't complain too much about it.

King of Skin Body Butter
This is the only product I haven't used yet from this set. The reason being is because I have no idea how to use it as I've never owned a Lush body butter. It does smell lovely. Leave a comment below if you've used Lush body butters before and let me know how you use them:)

I'm glad I purchased this gift set as it contained alot of Lush products I've never tried. I think it would make such a nice gift at Christmas, I would be happy if I seen this under my tree.

Seasons Greetings will be availble in Lush stores right up until Christmas and online.

Is there anything that catches your eye from Lush's Christmas range?

Two Exciting Fragrances From Korres

The fragrances above are the latest offerings from Korres. I love perfumes and have a quite a collection, so I couldn't wait to try them out.

The Korres perfume packaging is something I really like. They open up like so and gives bit of background on each ingredient.

Korres Vanilla/Freesia/Lychee Eau De Toilette
What usually attracts me to some perfumes are the glitzy bottle (Yes I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to all things shiny). Korres Vanilla/Freesia/Lychee has a simple bottle which I do like as it lets the fragrance itself do the talking in a way. At first I wasn't too sure if I particularly liked this fragrance as it didn't have a scent I would usually go for. After a while it warmed on me a little, Korres Vanilla/Freesia/Lychee actually reminds me of a light Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb (Let me know if you agree). Being alot more affordable than Flowerbomb I'd recommend it to people that like that scent. All in all this is a fragance I could see myself wearing, maybe not everyday but for special occasions.

Vetiver Root/Green Tea/ Cedarwood Eau De Toilette
A fragrance for men, I let my little brother Gerard try this. Here's what he had to say...

I'd never heard of the brand Korres before trying this. Being a typical bloke I use aftershave on a regular basis. Having a warm woody scent this is something I would go for. I could see people my age (18) and up wearing this. I also find the packaging unusual and  wouldn't be something I'd see alot of as it's plain. After trying this aftershave I would like to see what the rest of Korres man's range has to offer.

At the end of the day I believe fragrance preference is a very personal thing. What scent I like may not necessarily suit other people so if you like the look of these I'd advise you to go and try them out.

Korres Vetiver Root/Green Tea/Cedarwood & Vanilla/Freesia/Lychee 50ml Eau De Toilette retail for €29 (£24) and are available to buy online and in House Of Fraser.

What do you think of the latest Korres fragrances??

Laura <3

I was sent this product by the Korres PR Team to try out but all thoughts and views on the product are my own<3
