When I popped into Boots in Jervis St before an event on Wednesday, I was surprised to see a Essie stand. This brand was always near impossible to come across in Ireland. I would always have to order a couple of polishes off the Beauty Bay website. Boots have a great selection, not the full range but still some lovely shades to choose from. The layout of the stand is great as all the neutrals, blues, greens etc. are paired together which makes for easy browsing.
I bought a polish, Fiji which I adore. I got so many comments in work about it, everyone seemed to be a fan of the shade. The only thing I don't like about the polishes is the ridiculously steep price tag of €12.99. In the States you can get these for around the $8/$9 mark which converts back to less than €7. I don't understand how it's worked out at double the price here to be honest, even on Beauty Bay they cost €10.20. The nail polishes are good quality, so I'd consider buying some again but I still can't get over the price.
What's your favourite Essie polish? Would you like to see a NOTD using Fiji?

I would love to see a NOTD with Fiji :) I love the colour! How much was the postage when you ordered from beauty bay? I love Essie polishes but nowhere in Sligo has them! I dont think I could bring myself to pay €12.99 for one that is crazy! Considering they are so much cheaper in the US xxx
ReplyDeleteAt the moment it's free international delivery on Beautybay which is amazing!! I know I was pretty disappointed with the price if they weren't so expensive I would of probably picked up more xxx
DeleteSuch a gorgeous shade definitely a great choice! I have no Essie nail polishes yet but I am tempted by some of their pastel shades!

Yeah it's one of those shades that will go with everything you know xxx
DeleteFINALLY! I was just in Jervis the other day, I asked in loads of places where I could buy Essie, I think it's only available in salons. But I'm glad now they're selling it in Boots! Still think I'd order mine online though- €12.99 is waaaay too much. I got all of mine in London.

ReplyDeleteThey have such a gd selection just wish they weren't so expensive!! I'll definitely try to get one up soon xxx
DeleteThis looks so pretty, I'm really pleased that they are selling Essie in Boots now, although my local one wont stock it I bet lol. It's a shame about the price though :(. I would love to see a NOTD in Fiji x

I'll pop a NOTD up soon:):) I know I wish they weren't so expensive!! xxx
DeleteI had the same shocked reaction when my sister and I came across an essie stand in out Boots here in England and we also came across a stand full of mini Orly polishes. But I know what you mean about the prices, it is still cheaper to buy them on the internet, especially on ebay, which often works out cheaper than the superdrug website. But with buying on the internet you have to wait for the package, and it's hard to think that you'd be saving money if you go home and buy it online when the nail varnish is right in front of you in the shop!
ReplyDeleteThe Fiji colour you bought looks lovely, and well worth the money. I'd love to see what it looks like on.
Yeah I was so surprised they were so dear. I know what you mean but sometimes waiting that bit longer to order stuff online saves money, even though it is a pain waiting for them to be delivered. Oh I love Fiji, it goes with everything. I'll have a NOTD up soon:) xx
