The Lo Down - Too Faced & Kat Von D Better Together Eyeshadow Palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I recently bought the Too Face & Kat Von D Better Together eyeshadow palette, ever since I saw this collaboration I knew I had to get it. I was intrigued by all the products so in the end I bought the eyeshadow palette and I'm very happy with my purchase.
I have seen mixed reviews on this palette but I'm fairly impressed with it. The collaboration was well thought out and it's such a good idea to have brought these two amazing brands together. I've never tried any Kat Von D products so I was really looking forward to trying their products.
The eyeshadow palette is just amazing it's shaped like a heart and is magnetic so can be separated which is such a good idea for travel and if you want to fit it in your makeup bag as when it's together it could be a bit impractical. There are six shadows in both palette which totally different shade ranges, the Kat Von D side is definitely that little more daring in my opinion. All the shadows are so pigmented except for the shade Lovely in the Too Faced palette which was kind of disappointing.
I don't have a favourite side as I've been drawn towards both. I love a neutral eye look so I've been using the Too Faced side that little bit more. I love the shades, Friendspiration and Power Couple. The latter is amazing blended into the crease while the other shadow looks perfect all over the lid.
I love how there is a little message on the inside of both palettes, it's just  a extra special touch. The palette itself retails for €68 on Debenhams website which isn't too bad considering you get a full sized mascara and liner. If you are a fan of both these brands I'd definitely recommend picking up this palette it's such a nice addition to my makeup collection, having never tried Kat Von D products I can't wait to try more in the future.

The Lo Down - Weekend Vibes

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've decided to do a post on the makeup I used yesterday on my face. I used two new products in my collection, Paula's Choice Resist Smoothing Primer Serum SPF30 (review coming soon) and Lancome's  Teint Idole Ultra Foundation which I did a review of here. I'm really impressed with both of these products as my makeup literally didn't budge all day which is exactly what you need on the weekend don't you think?
I just really like how this makeup look all came together perfectly it was quite natural with a nice neutral smokey eye. My favourite! Over my makeup I used the Too Faced Born This Way concealer which I have to say is probably one of my favourite concealers on the market. It covers all imperfections I may have on my skin. I use two shades fair and light depending on which way my skin is looking. I absolutely love the smell of this concealer it has a really nice coconut scent, it's not overpowering though. I also reviewed this product here. Lastly on the eyes I used the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette which is a dream to work with all the eyeshadows are so buttery. I like how this palette contains a nice mixture of shades to choose from, I'm a big fan. All of the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes are amazing quality and definitely worth the €47 price tag in my opinion. I have them all and I'm delighted to have them in my makeup collection. I did a indepth review of this palette which you can find here. As you all know already I now have eyelash extensions so I haven't been using mascara lately as it's not really needed at the moment.
I really like this makeup look it is great for day or night, it looks so pretty and it's easily achieved. I like makeup looks where you don't have to use loads of products, it keeps your cosmetic bag feeling alot lighter I have to say!

The Lo Down - Today's Simple Makeup Look

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Today I kept my makeup look nice and simple. I used minimal makeup products as I was getting eyelash extensions so I didn't want to wear too much. I will be doing a post about my eyelash extensions soon don't worry but yes they look amazing. I love them!
I didn't put on any mascara for obvious reasons as it would just be coming off once the eyelash extensions were being put on. I went to Araya Beauty in Leopardstown, it's such a relaxing environment and I enjoyed every minute of my treatment. Of course my eyelashes look amazing I really like them alot.

So back to what I wore on my face today. I started off with Flormar Illuminating Primer. If you haven't tried this stuff already it's unreal and leaves your skin glowing which obviously everyone wants from a good primer I know I do. This product cost about €10 which isn't too bad at all. Next up I used Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in the shade Ivory. I'm quite fond of this foundation it has a nice bit of coverage with a natural finish which is exactly what everyone wants right? Sometimes Boots have pretty good deals on Rimmel makeup so definitely keep an eye out. For concealer I used Too Faced Born This Way concealer in the shade Fair. I actually have two shades of this concealer but I do think Fair suits me alot better than Light at this time of year. If you want to see my thoughts on this product you can check out my full review here.

Lastly on my lips I used the new Yves Saint Laurent Tint in Balm which is such a lovely lip product. It's quickly becoming my favourite lip balm, I can't get enough of it at all. It's so hydrating on the lips and perfect for on the go cause your never going to make a mess with this one that's for sure. I actually reviewed this product earlier on today if you want to check it out here.
So that's my makeup look for today, I know pretty simple isn't it? I love these sort of makeup looks for chilled out days when you don't want to be putting too much makeup on.

The Lo Down - Too Faced Love Flush Blushes

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I like a nice blush, there's nothing like wearing a nice natural blush that gives a hint of colour to the cheeks. I recently got the chance to review two from Too Faced, a brand that I've been loving lately.
The blushes they sent me are from the Love Flush blush range. They are said to be long lasting 16 hour blushes. I wouldn't say they do that but they stay on the cheeks for ages during the day. The two shades I got are Justify my Love a beautiful baby pink and Love Hangover a lovely coral shade. I like both of these shades equally they give a nice hint of colour to the cheeks. They are soo pigmented aswell.
I love the packaging on these products, they remind me of Polly Pockets from back in the day, so cute They're magnetic aswell so rest assured they will not open in your makeup bag which is always good to know. I do think these products would look amazing as a part of anyones makeup collection. I definitely want to pick up some more soon. These blushes retail for €30 so they are on the expensive side but they're definitely worth looking into if you want to add a new blush to your collection.

The Lo Down - Too Faced Original Chocolate Bar Palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

The only Too Faced palette I didn't have in my current collection was the original Chocolate Bar palette and I really couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I was beyond delighted when the lovely team at Wizard Publicity sent this over to me to review not too long ago. I had it when it was in the old packaging years ago as it was sent to me by my American blogger friend Chie but I'm pretty sure I could of gave it to my sister a while back.
This palette completes my collection, it looks so pretty on my shelf alongside the others. This beautiful cool toned palette contains sixteen eyeshadows  in matte and shimmer finishes with a dew bright shades thrown in for good measure. As the original chocolate bar palette it paved the way for the rest of the palettes and it was alot to live up to but they all surpass my expectations.
Like always this palette smells like chocolate.... yummy! These shades are so versatile and are perfect for everyday or a glammed up nighttime look. The shadows all blend beautifully, it's very hard to pick a favourite from this palette to be honest,if I have to choose one I'd probably have to say Marzipan as an all over lid shade. The two highlighter shades in this palette are by far the best from all the Too Faced Chocolate bar palettes I feel. For €47, this is price but I think it's great if you can overlook the price definitely go for it.
Have you tried any of the chocolate bar palettes? What's your favourite shade?

The Lo Down - Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

This is the last of my Too Faced shadow palettes and definitely my second favourite palette. It is a deeper, warmer version of the original palette. I don't own the original yet I had it before but I can't seem to find it anywhere I think I gave it to my sister. I've been using the Semi Sweet Chocolate Palette the most after the Sweet Peach palette. Again this has the rich smell of chocolate which I adore and makes these palettes palettes special. It also contains 16  shadows, again a mixture of mattes and shimmers like the other Too Faced palettes.
You can create even more beautiful dazzling looks with this palette. My favourite shades are caramel, bon bon and frosting. The latter is beautiful as a crease colour and the others are amazing as all over lid shades.
I love the packaging of this palette it's so pretty, it looks like a real chocolate bar, This palette also comes with a how to guide aswell so you can learn how to create three glamorous looks. I just need to purchase the original palette now to complete my collection which I'm probably going to do really soon. This palette is €47 which isn't too bad in my opinion when there's so many shades available to you. I can't wait to add to my Too Faced palette collection soon I love the look of the Kat Von D collaboration.

What's your favourite Chocolate bar palette?

The Lo Down - Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon eyeshadow palette

Hey Guys and Dolls,

As you all know already I love Too Faced palettes, I own quite a few to be fair. One of them is the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette. It may no be my favourite palette in the range but I do like it all the same. A great array of looks can be created using the gorgeous shadows in this palette.
At €47 for these palettes they are expensive but you can't really go wrong. They contain 16 pigmented shadows in different finishes cased in a gorgeous baby pink tin. Can't you tell I love the tin! My favourite shades are Satin Sheets as a highlight and Molasses Chip for all over the lid. There's a few shades that do stand out like a sore thumb like Totally Fetch (bright pink) and Early Grey (electric blue) but they add a nice pop of colour to any eye look.
I think these are great palettes for travelling as you can create a fantastic look for day or night plus it has a pretty good sized mirror for on the go too. These palettes also look gorgeous lined up on your makeup shelve. I'm looking forward to seeing what Too Faced come up with next.

What Too Faced palettes are a part of your collection?

The Lo Down - Too Faced Born This Way Concealer

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I've been quite the fan of Too Faced lately so I have. I just love their products, I have alot of their eyeshadow palettes which I use own numerous as you can probably tell on my Instagram. I recently review their Sweet Peach palette at the beginning of my Lo Down series that you can find here. It's such a lovely palette and I'd recommend it to anybody to be honest. I want to get their original Chocolate bar palette next and I want to try their mini Chocolate bar palettes they look intriguing. I hope they launch soon on the Debenhams website.
When this product in particular came through my letter box I was beyond excited to give it a go. It is on the expensive side  at €24 but it's amazing if I do say so myself. I was given the chance to try two shades, light and fair which are the second and third lightest shades available. There are ten shades in total so I'm pretty sure this product will suit just about everybody.
With ingredients such as alpine rose, coconut water and hyaluronic acid I find that ti helps with my fine lines and wrinkles plus the pesky dark circles under my eyes which I'm getting more and more of in my late twenties. Too many late nights in my youth I think. Can't believe I'm going to be 27 next month I feel so old right now but back to my review. This product leaves your skin looking fresh as a daisy and so radiant. It's even good at covering the odd blemish here and there, I'm lucky I don't get too many breakouts I drink a tonne of water since starting this health kick early this month.

There is also a Born This Way foundation that is a great companion to this concealer. It is up there with my favourite foundations so I'll definitely be featuring it soon guys and dolls. I do own alot of concealers as I like to have one whenever its needed be it on a nightout in a town or even when I'm touching up my makeup at lunch. I do have a couple of affordable faves which I will show you in upcoming posts in this series.

Have you tried this concealer? What's your favourite concealer I'd love to know.

The Lo Down - Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Hi guys and dolls,

For the next month starting from today I've decided to do a blog post everyday. This will consist of reviews, fitness updates and hauls to name a few. I've decided to call this series the Lo down as my nickname given to me by my seven year old nephew when he was just about two years old was Aunty LoLo which kinda stuck ever since. Just about everyone calls me that now including my boyfriend Daragh who might be doing a post for you guys during this series showcasing his favourite aftershaves. I think it's a good idea when you have a boyfriend like mine that you don't know what to buy for sometimes so maybe that will help you guys out, well I hope it does anyway. So back to the blogpost at hand, my first Lo Down is going to be on the much coveted Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I missed out on this the first time around so when I seen it was being re-released I of course without a shadow of a doubt had to get my hands on it asap. So lets get started if you want to read about my views and opinions on this lovely product keep on reading.
I purchased my Too Faced Sweet Peach palette at the beginning of January off the Debenhams website. I'm always happy with the service from them so when I decide to buy a beauty item and they stock it, it's definitely my go to. The item is usually shipped within a week and it's packaged very well so to be honest you can't really go wrong at all.
I got the palette quite promptly. Debenhams must have a lot of stock as it hasn't sold out yet on the website which is a good sign this time around as when it first launched in 2016 this palette was like gold dust and you couldn't get your hands on it for love nor money. Unless you decided to go down the aul Ebay route but I wasn't to keen in handing out a €100 for a palette I could get for €47 who would like unless your crazy or minted, one or the other.
The Sweet Peach palette this time around was released with a to die for collection. The collection itself contains gorgeous scented (peach of course) lip glosses in a fab range of colours which I can see myself and lots of other people rocking over the Spring and Summer months. It also contains a blush and a highlighting blush palette, these two products already have my name on them that's for sure and I'm definitely going to pick them up when they launch on Debenhams website. From what I've seen online review wise, all the range gets a big thumbs up so I'm happy to part with some of my hard earned money to get them or hopefully possibly a well deserved 27th birthday present "Daragh hint hint are you reading this?"
So the palette itself is in my eyes beautiful and definitely a must have! It has eighteen shades in a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. They are sooo unbelievably wearable and I've been using them day and night. I've been getting nothing but compliments on my eye looks which of course is always a good thing and puts the confidence at a high. In all my recent Instagram eye looks I have been using this palette so if you want to check them out you can here! My favourite shadows in the palette are  Luscious and Peach Pit as they work so well together to create a gorgeous glam smokey eye. Perfect for day or night! Can I just say this palette smells amazing just like a sweet peach (see what I did there?). I also love the little smiling sweet peach emoji on the packaging. AND we can't not mention the packaging. It keeps in tune with the rest of the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette, it's a gorgeous ombre effect going from light peach to coral.

All in all I genuinely have to give this palette two big thumbs up, for €47 you get an amazing range of shadows so as they say there's something for everyone in this. I know some bloggers weren't impressed in some of the reviews on YouTube but as they say you can't please everyone. I do sincerely think this palette has a good mix of shades that would take you from Spring to Winter. It's just so versatile and pigmented I think it would be a great addition to just about anyones makeup bag. I have to say this is my favourite palette from the Too Faced range followed closely by the Semi Sweet Chocolate bar palette which I'm going to do a post on in the coming week or so. If chocolate browns or nudes are more your thing definitely keep an eye out for that post which will be coming soon.

What do you think of this palette? Would it be your favourite out of the Too Faced eyeshadow range?

Wish I Never Bought It!! #2 Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I haven't done one of these posts in forever but I think this product deserves one. I had such high hopes for the Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance after hearing so many rave reviews. Unfortunately I was left really disappointed by this product. Back in June I purchased the Look Of Love makeup set which included the eyeshadow primer as part of the set. I bought Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion (new packaging) at the same time which I'm a big fan of.

Using eyeshadow primers is a big part of my everyday makeup routine as I have quite oily eyelids. If I don't use a primer, my eyeshadow is going to be gone/badly creased by the end of the day. When I bought Eyeshadow Insurance I thought it was going to give Urban Decay's Primer potion a run for it's money.  Not a chance! I found it's consistency to be a big let down, for some reason it was very watery. The product just sits on my eyelid and takes forever to blend in, which I really don't need if I'm in a hurry. I've only used this a handful of times since I bought it, which shows just how unimpressed I was by the results.

For the price, €19.70 I don't think I'll be purchasing this again. Perhaps it was a part of a bad patch, but I have my doubts. If you were going to buy a eyeshadow primer I'd recommend the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. Not only is this my favourite product it's also cheaper (€17.30).

What's your favourite eyeshadow primer? Did anyone have the same problem with Eyeshadow Insurance?

FOTD- Barcelona Style

As I said in my 'Barcelona, I love you' post I only wore makeup on my first day in Barcelona. It was considerably hot and humid so I thought it was pointless to wear any as it just melted away by the end of the day.

I decided to opt for a natural look and went for neutral brown shadows.

What's in my Travel Makeup Bag??

As I'm going away to Barcelona tomorrow I wanted to do this post for you girlies. I love reading other bloggers 'What's in my Bag?' posts cause I find them pretty informative and I admit I'm a little nosey!

As I'm not checking in a bag it leaves me pretty restricted in what I can bring on the plane. There's also the fact I'm going for five days so I doubt I'll be wearing that much makeup. I'll be too busy seeing all the sights that Barcelona has to offer.

I got this bag in Debenhams at the start of the Summer. It was €18 but it was greatly reduced to €9 so course I had to pick it up. I didn't know I was going on holidays but I'm glad I picked it up now.

It opens to show two compartments, one is see through. I really like that feature as it's easier to find things which means I don't have to go pulling everything out. I keep my makeup brushes in the other compartment.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Talk to you girlies when I get back from my holiday.

BeautyBay.com Haul!!!:):)

Last Tuesday, I finally got my package from BeautyBay.com. The order was delayed because the product I wanted wasn't in stock and when it was finally shipped there was 2 bank holidays in a row ( 1 in England and Ireland) which in turn caused further disruption to the arrival of my package.

When I seen all my lovely products I knew it was worth the wait. When I ordered all my goodies I had a 20% discount code (Thanks to Charli!). I took full advantage of  this discount and went on a online beauty shopping spree and I got some gorgeous products. So far I've only tried out a few but I'm really impressed with what I purchased..

Firstly my package cam looking like this, it was covered with a Beauty Bay embroidered bag. I will upload a picture on a later date as I seem to have mislaid it.

I think the products inside this box are the ones that matter:)

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion
At first glance, I loved the new packaging on this product. It's so much easier to use and there is also 10% more product in this than in the old packaging!!

OPI Pirates Of The Caribbean Mini Collection
I am such a big fan of Pirates Of The Caribbean. This collection was a must:)

From L2R- Skulls & Glossbones, Planks Alot, Sparrow Me the Drama, Stranger Tides

OPI Cirque De Femme Mini Collection
All the neutral shades in this collection are gorgeous. I can't wait to try them all out!!:)

L2R- I Juggle...Men, So Many Clowns So Little Time, In The Spot-Light Pink, Step Right Up!

Too Faced Look Of Love Spring Makeup Collection 2011
I got this collection as I love Too Faced products. Sadly their not available in Ireland anymore, When I seen this beautiful set I'm glad I got my hands on it. You get so much value for money with this set believe me!!:)

L2R- Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer, Lash Injection Mascara, Look Of Love Compact, Deluxe Primed & Poreless Primer, Flatbuki Brush, Glamour Gloss

I've been so busy lately that I've only been able to use 2 products from this collection so far, Look Of Love Compact and the Glamour Gloss!!! My verdict- I adore them.

The 2 eyeshadows you receive in this compact are "Silk Teddy" and "Totally Toasted". If you own Too Faced Natural Eye Palette you will already own "Silk Teddy". These two eyeshadows create a very natural daytime look. I  haven't used the blusher " La Vie En Rose" yet but I shall let you know when I do.

I love this lipgloss. The shade is Barely Legal and it's a lovely neutral pink shade. The packaging is so cute and girly and is very well detailed. The gloss itself contains Lip Injection Comfort Plump. I don't like lip plumpers, the ones I've tried have always not suited me. This one I can find nothing wrong with and I don't get that irritating feeling on my lips that I get with some brands.

That comes to the end of my haul from BeautyBay. I found their website to be full of good bargains as some of the products are cheaper than on counters in Ireland. If you want to check out their website I shall leave it linked below. I'm sure you'll find something you like as there are endless amounts of products to be seen.:)

Hope you enjoyed,
Laura<3
