The Lo Down - Urban Decay Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector

Hey Guys and Dolls,

After loving the Naked Skin Foundation I decided to pick up Urban Decay's Naked Skin One and Done Hybrid Complexion perfector aswell while I was doing my Urban Decay makeup course. I know the name is a bit of a mouthful indeed. I've been trying this product  alot lately and though it may not overtake Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation but I do like it.

This product is a hybrid between a foundation and tinted moisturiser. It also has a tonner of skin benefits including reduced pore size and more vibrant skin. A little bit goes a long way with this product. It has a pump so you can control how much product you use. I feel this product applies best with a brush and it gives such a good finish.

It has pretty good coverage for a complexion perfector I have to say. I think this would be a great product for the Summer months or if you are on holidays. I do like this product but I'm uncertain if I will purchase it again. I'm sure this tube will last me a while though.

The Lo Down - Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

I love Urban Decay, I have alot of their products and I'm in love with them all. I used their old foundation when it first came out and I didn't like it, it clung to my skin in all the wrong places. When they launched their Naked Skin foundation I couldn't wait to try it and of course I was in love.

I've gone through a couple of bottles of this foundation and I'm in the shade 3.0, I did a Urban Decay makeup course in Debenhams last year that came to €200. The €200 was redeemable on products which was amazing. I bought a couple of items and this was one of them.

This foundation is medium coverage but it's buildable and blends beautifully into the skin. I use either my Real Techniques Buffing Brush or one of my Blank Canvas makeup brushes to apply it. I'm really looking forward to trying their new All Nighter foundation.

Again this is another highend foundation at €34.50 but I've already gone through so many bottles of this stuff. It's definitely one of my favourite foundations.

The Lo Down - St Patrick's Day Inspired Makeup Look

Hey Guys and Dolls,

Seeing as St Patrick's Day is on Friday I thought I'd do makeup look inspired by this special day. To be fair I don't really venture into town on Paddy's Day as Dublin can get a bit messy at times. However I did go to the parade in Greystones a couple of years back with my Dad and that was pretty good. This year I'm going to see Beauty & the Beast with my Mam so I can't wait. I've been really looking forward to seeing this movie for ages. Emma Watson looks like the perfect Belle in my opinion.

So for today's look I focused mainly on the eyes. I decided to use my fairly new Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette. I'm not big into colour but when I saw this on special I couldn't leave it behind. I did a full review on this palette here. Of course I used the greens from this palette for the look, I used the shades Hundred and Hatter. Both these shadows are sooo pigmented I love them, they really make a amazing Patrick's Day look. 

I adore this palette lots, it contains so many beautiful shades that are so pigmented. I'm definitely going to create more looks using this palette.

The Lo Down - Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks

Hey Guys and Dolls,

I love a good lippie I do. I think a lovely lipstick just completes a look. When I saw that one of my favourite brands Urban Decay came out with new lipsticks I had to give them a try. I purchased two if these lipsticks and I was sent three to review, boy are they good.

The two shades I purchased are Backtalk and Liar, the other three are more vibrant and they are called Menace, Rock Steady & Disturbed. These lipsticks come in alot of finishes, 6 to be exact which means there's something for everyones fancy. My favourite shade is Backtalk, it is such a very pretty   colour that I wear on my lips regularly. These lipsticks are great on a night out as they are really long wearing.

These lipsticks come in at  €18.50  so they're definitely well priced so as I said already I'm definitely going to pick up some more of these really soon.

The Lo Down - Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipsticks

After trying their Vice lipsticks I couldn't wait to try Urban Decay's Vice Liquid Lipsticks when I saw they were being launched. I was sent the shade 22 which is a pinky mauve shade and it's perfect for me I'm in love!

I've used this everyday since I received it and it's longlasting and beautiful. It's so pigmented and when I say it literally lasts all day it does when I put this on in the morning it doesn't budge one little bit until night time which is amazing.

There are 18 shades to choose from and they all look so pretty. I love the neutral shades from this range the most. I definitely want to try some more of these lipsticks as they retail for €18, they're not too pricey either.

The Lo Down - Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette

I'm not into bright vibrant shadows but I couldn't not buy the Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette. I bought it in House of Fraser Dundrum Town Centre, this palette is usually in and around €50 but I got it for €32 on offer which is such amazing value.

The Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette contains 21 shadows in all the colours of the rainbow and with different finishes from matte to shimmer this is a great palette for any makeup lover. I like how the shades are grouped into different shade groups so everything looks super organised.

The palette also contains a double ended eyeshadow brush. The brushes that come with these palettes are always amazing which is good too. The Urban Decay Full Spectrum palette is so different to any eyeshadow palettes I have in my collection even though I'm not into bright, vibrant shades I've been using  this lots since I bought it a month ago.

The top row is full of beautiful smokey shadows. This is probably my favourite group of shadows they're so pretty. They are gorgeous in the crease. The second row is definitely more vibrant and harder to use in a everyday makeup look. The last row are beautiful subtle shades which I really like.

My favourite shadows are the purple shades as I think they are so much easier to use in any eye look especially the smokey shade. 

If this palette is used right you can create looks that are perfect for everyday if you incorporate some neutral eyeshadows. I'll definitely do a post soon featuring a eyeshadow look including this palette.

The Full Spectrum palette is beautiful and certainly worth the buy especially if you can get it on offer so definitely have a look out for it.

The Lo Down - Just a Everyday Makeup Look!

I like wearing a bit of makeup everyday it makes me feel more put together and alive, even when I'm not wearing my usual everyday makeup I slap on a bit of tinted moisturer and mascara. For my everyday makeup I like to keep things as simple as possible as I like to get those extra few minutes in bed. Sure isn't your beauty sleep very important.

The look above is my current everyday makeup and it's so easy to achieve even when your in a rush. As you can see it's very simple indeed, a nice base with a natural eye. Most of the products I used are from budget brands and are easy to find in Boots stores, they're sometimes on offer aswell which is always good to hear.

First off I applied my new favourite foundation and concealer from the True Match range. These two products are amazing, I use the shade Vanilla if your wondering. They blend seamlessly into the skin and they look incredibly natural which is always a good sign. Again I use my favourite foundation brush at the moment, the Louise Young Super foundation brush. If you can still get your hands on one of these brushes I'd highly recommend it.

Now onto the eyes, today I used Urban Decay's Naked Ultimate Basics palette. I love this palette it's so handy for travelling or in your handbag cause it has an amazing array of shades plus the mirror is huge so perfect for applying makeup on the go. For this particular look I used Pre-Game all over the lid with Extra Bitter in the crease. The latter is definitely my favourite shade in the palette, it's such a nice colour and it's soo pigmented. This is probably my favourite Naked palette ever and that's saying something. Lastly for mascara I've used Max Factor Fusion mascara. I'm not going to going to harp on about this but I love the effect it gives to my lashes, incredible volume.

While I was writing this blog post I've been listening to Christina Perri's I Believe from the movie Pan. I love the movie and adore the song. If you haven't seen it go get the movie it's so good!

The Lo Down - Urban Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

Wow when this palette was released I knew I had to get my hands on it. The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette was released in 2016 and it is by far my favourite palette I'd know as I basically have all of them. This sleek palette is so pretty I adore the rose goldesque packaging it have a great size mirror which is great for when your on the go.

The palette consists of twelve new and exclusive matte neutrals which are so buttery and pigmented. I just love it. I do own a lot of eyeshadow palettes I'm not going to lie so I try to use this alot. When I stay in my boyfriends this is my go to and I usually bring it as it's so versatile. The palette also comes with a pretty good blending and smudger brush which is way better than alot of mediocre brushes that are in some palettes. My favourite shades in this palette are extra bitter and lethal I think they are both very wearble and are so pigmented, they are amazing for a great smokey eye for day or night you decide. My go to look is Blow on the brow bone as a highlight, Nude all over lid, Extra Bitter in the crease and Lethal blended into the crease and outer corner. This look is ace and I've rocked it alot it's what I'm wearing in the picture below.

I think this is a great asset to any makeup lovers collection, there's such a great array of shades and countless eye looks to create.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette

One of the most anticipated launches this year from Urban Decay is their Gwen Stefani palette. First off I'm in love with the packaging. Gwen herself was heavily involved in the making of this palette which I think is pretty cool. Twelve of the shades are new and three preexisting shadows from the  Urban Decay range. It's great that Urban Decay resisted the temptation to launch another  Naked palette and have taken a new direction with this collaboration. It definitely adds a breath of fresh air to the brand.

I'd probably wear all these shadows, the dark electric blue and the light pink shade.are very daring so I'm looking forward to playing around with them and all the browns and nude shades in this palette are to die for. All the shade names are really fun too and all represent Gwen and different times in her life for example her first album name etc.

At €46 I don't think you can really go wrong with this palette as it has such a variety of wearable, aswell as fun  shades to choose from. I personally just love the packaging and it's already taken pride of place on my shelf. I can see this being at the top of alot of beauty lovers Christmas list this holiday season. It's also limited edition so if you want to get your hands on this I'd definitely check out your local Debenhams or online

Urban Decay Ammo Palette

When people think of Urban Decay, their much talked about Naked Palettes come to mind, I know that's what pops into my head. I do think we (myself included) tend to forget that the brand have so many more palettes on offer. One that is definitely a winner for me is Urban Decay's Ammo Palette* which was relaunched a few months ago in all new packaging and reformulated shadows. They also made room for a mini eyeshadow brush and a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion is included in the mix too. I remember having the original palette back when I was 16, I bought it as a treat after I got my first ever job in Penneys (Primark). It was way before I started blogging and I can remember it being my prized makeup possession. I wasn't as good at applying makeup back then as I am now so let's just say I probably came out with some questionable looks using this palette. I for one love the new packaging, first off it has a big purple design on it and we all know that's my favourite colour. Secondly the old velvet style packaging used to get dirty so quickly with makeup fingerprints while the new one would be easily wiped clean.

I love this palette, it would be ideal for travelling as it contains a fair share of neutrals and fun vibrant shades. It's a bit smaller than my hand, so it would fit into a makeup bag easily which is always a plus. Of course like with all Urban Decay palettes there are a few cross over shades, but I do think this would be the perfect addition to anyones makeup collection, as there is a good selection of shades in it. I can see myself using every shade in this palette, at first I thought I'd steer clear of 'Shattered', however after using this palette for  a while this shade is great along the lower lashline for a pretty Summer look. I'm glad that 'Sin' is included in this palette too, I use this shade in so many ways as all over lid colour, on my brow bone and in the inner corner. It's just one of those versatile shades that you're always going to use. All the shadows in this palette are extremely pigmented as you can see from the swatches below. The only one I had some trouble with was 'Polyester Bride', that took some work as it is kind of on the gritty side. My favourite combination at the moment is 'Chopper' all over the lid with 'Last Call' blended into the crease. It's such an easy simple eye look for everyday I love it! One thing to bare in mind is that all these shadows are shimmery and contain glitter so if you don't like either this may not be for you. It doesn't really bother me as I actually always do my eye makeup before applying my foundation, so I can always just wipe it away.

I don't think you can go wrong with this palette, there's shadows for different occasions throughout the Summer, e.g Holidays, Festivals, etc. aswell as neutral shadows that would be perfect for everyday. All these shadows are available to buy individually but it works out way better value to go for the palette as the price for this comes in at €29 (€5 less than two single eyeshadows). I personally find it takes me for ages to finish one single eyeshadow so the Ammo Palette is perfect for me.

My St Patrick's Day Makeup Look

Happy Paddy's Day everyone!

I didn't do anything too exciting today, I watched a bit of the parade on the TV but for the majority I was pretty busy getting my second last assignment done. This is probably the one I'm most nervous about as I have to give a presentation to the rest of my class. I know I'll be fine but I just find getting up in front of my peers so nerve wrecking. I speak to them all the time in college, I could literally talk for Ireland. Like a lot of people when it comes to doing a formal presentation, the chattiness goes out the window and I freeze completely. I don't have to get my part of the assignment in for another week so I'm pretty confident that I'll get it done during the week. To take a break from my college work I did head out last night to celebrate St Patrick's Day. I'm in work tomorrow so there was no way I was heading out on the town tonight. I had such a lovely night, it was nice to catch up with the girls as well as getting our dance on. I don't own any green clothes so I threw on some green eyeshadow to make up for it. I used the duo eyeshadow called Jealous from Urban Decay's Theodora palette. I love this palette, it contains such lovely shades that I do find I use way more than the Glinda palette. I also used the shade Loaded, again another Urban Decay shadow this time from their Smoked palette. I love this brands palettes so much, I'm always super pleased with the quality. There can be a little fall out but the shade selections in the palettes I've picked up in the past have never let me down. On my lashes I'm using a old favourite of mine, Volume Effet Faux Cils mascara. This makes me look like I have fake eyelashes on, it's kinda helps that I have pretty long eyelashes already though. I love the packaging on this gem, it's so luxurious. The only thing I don't like is the price and the fact that it dries up in the tube pretty quickly. I actually picked this mascara up as a part of a set (includes Touche Eclat & an Eye Makeup Remover) in Duty Free so I always pick one of them up when I'm off on holidays. I can remember it being really good value for the two products.

On my face I used Revlon's new foundation Nearly Naked, another favourite of mine this gives a light coverage and evens out my skintone giving a nice natural finish. The shade is a bit tad bit too dark for me but I haven't been able to find the shade Vanilla anywhere, the search will continue. All in all I think I kept this look pretty simple bar the dark green smokey eye. I hope you guys like it, I'll definitely do more posts like this in the future.

Collective Haul - Boots, Urban Decay, Michael Kors

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past month, I've just been bogged down with work and college. I hardly have time to think nowadays at all, hopefully I get some spare time soon to get back to blogging. I thought I'd show you guys some of the bits and pieces I've bought over the past while. I'm considering just doing Collective Haul posts in the future as I think it's better than doing numerous ones throughout the month. At least this way and give you guys some feedback on how I like everything.

I spotted these candle holders in Carraig Donn and I fell in love with them straight away. I'm forever picking up bits and bobs so I thought these would look great in my room. They weren't too expensive at €4 each so I'm really happy with them, the colours are perfect for this time of year. I haven't been using these for candles though, I've been using them to store my makeup brushes, lipglosses and whatnot.

As you all know I love Urban Decay Decay palettes, I have quite a few. The Smoked and Naked 2 palette would be my favourites. To be honest when I first seen the Vice Palette online I wasn't too blown away. When I went it store to have a look though it was a totally different story. The Vice  Palette contains twenty shadows that are exclusive to this palette. The majority of shades in the palette are neutral with a pink, purple, blue and greens thrown in. I like how there is a bit of a mixture though, for this time of the year especially you don't want to be rushing out to pick up one pink shadow for a fancy dress. All the eyeshadow are extremely pigmented in this palette, I haven't been having any problems with fallout like with previously palettes. My favourite shadows so far would be Provocateur, Jagged and Muse. I've been using the latter in the crease with Provocateur as the base and it looks so pretty.

I went to Boots on two seperate occasions as they have their amazing 3 for 2 on makeup offer on. I bought quite a bit both times as you can see, there are still some bits I haven't got around to trying yet. I've tried all three foundations I bought and I can't say I think too highly of the Max Factor All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation, it's so thick and doesn't sit on my skin too well. The shade I went for doesn't match my skin tone either so just a bad purchase by all accounts. I may give this to my Sister as she may like it more than me who knows, I just don't want it to go to waste as I paid like €16.99 for it which is shocking. I'm undecided on Maybelline's Superstay 24hr foundation, so I'll keep you updated on that on but my favourite foundation by far was Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation. It has such a lovely formula and blends beautifully into my skin leaving a glowy finish. If like me you have oily/combination skin just add a bit of powder I use Rimmel's Stay Matte powder which is great and affordable. I picked up an assortment of nail polishes from Barry M and Rimmel which I've been loving lately. My two favourite polishes would have to be the Barry M glitter and sparkle ones, there so pretty but a nightmare to get off.  Other purchases I made that are definitely worth the money are the Loreal Colour Riche eyeshadow palettes. I picked up three as the 3 for 2 promotion meant I'd get one for free and I'm so glad I did. I haven't seen too many reviews on these around the blogosphere but they are so pigmented and I've been using them alot so expect a review very soon.

Over the last while I've wanted to treat myself to something for doing so well with Slimming World. I didn't want to buy another makeup palette or expensive beauty products as they'd come and go like everything else. I wanted to have something that would stay with me forever so I decided to splurge on a Michael Kors Rose Gold watch. I was undecided between the diamond and plain face but I finally went with the latter as I thought it would go with way more. I was definitely right, this watch has not left my wrist since I bought it over three weeks ago, it works really well with everything and I couldn't be happier with it. I may start doing fashion posts soon as it's something I've wanted to do for a while now so I'd love to know what you guys think.

Rediscovered - Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette

Whenever I clean up my room I always find products that have slipped under my radar. I store my makeup on custom built shelves in my room but I'm still in the process of organising everything so alot of stuff still remains in boxes. One of the products I've rediscovered recently is my Urban Decay 15th Anniversary palette. I fell in love with this when it was first released so I was surprised I hadn't used it in so long. The presentation of this palette is beautiful. A selection of limited edition eyeshadows come presented in a pretty purple tray which rests in a gorgeous velvet box. I like the idea that once you finish with the shadows you can use the packaging to store other bit and pieces, I may use mine for jewellery. The shade selection is good I like how there is a equal amount of brights and neutrals. I'm a big fan of the latter but it's still handy to have some alternatives in case you need them for a particular look. All the shadows were limited edition when the palette was released last year but since Urban Decay repackaged all their eyeshadows I think some of them are now available on counter. The brand brings out new palettes quite regularly, I think the Naked 2 palette must of took centre stage when I bought it so this one was left forgotten. That's certainly not the case now as I've found myself reaching for this more over the last week or so. All Urban Decay eyeshadows are super pigmented, like everyone I do get annoyed with the fall out but I haven't found that to be the case with this palette at all. They are so easy to work with and blend beautifully.

Urban Decay's Build Your Own Palette

Urban Decay are forever releasing new palettes that I instantly fall in love with it. The latest is their first ever build your own palette. All their current eyeshadows have been reformulated and repackaged to fit in with this new release. When I first heard about this palette I added it to my wishlist. Luckily my lovely boyfriend bought it for me on a recent shopping trip. Of course I couldn't wait to go home and play around with it. The palette itself comes with an exclusive eyeshadow, Walk of Shame and a travel sized Good Karma eyeshadow brush. I love Walk of Shame, I've been using it all over the lid lately with No7's Truffle in the crease. Both make a gorgeous everyday eye look which is easy peasy.

From the outside, the packaging is similar to Naked 2 in the sense that it's metallic but that's where the similarities end. I love the fun design on the the palette, I definitely wouldn't be embarrassed to pull this out of my bag. It's alot wider that the Naked palette as it has room for six full sized eyeshadows. Alot of brands have come out with their own spins on custom palettes but Urban Decay's offering is one of my favourites. The new packaging means you have a place to put eyeshadows when you want to switch them around. The palettes I own already don't give me the option to do that. I don't know about you but for me, leaving an eyeshadow pan on my dresser means a) it's going get broken or b) it's going to go walk abouts. Not that it was easy for me to take the pan out of the new packaging. I'm not going to lie it took me a while to work out how to do it right. I decided to buy another eyeshadow to go in the palette as I felt Walk of Shame was a bit lonely by itself. I went for Bordello which is a mauvey pink shade. I don't know about this one it looks really nice swatched but I haven't been giving it enough love lately.

Price wise, this palette is a lot more expensive than other Urban Decay palettes. It cost €17.00 for the palette, the brush and the exclusive eyeshadow. Each eyeshadow after that is €17.50, if you were to fill up a palette it would set you back €104.50. Shocking, I know seeing as their famous Naked Palettes retail for around the €40 mark. I couldn't see anyone (myself included) fill up this palette in one go. I would rather purchase an eyeshadow or two each month to pop in. For convenience only, I'd almost prefer to bring this palette on holidays with me as I can select what eyeshadows I want and it's just the perfect size. It also has a huge mirror which isn't a deal breaker for me but it's always handy to have.

Will you be forking out on this palette or sticking to the Naked Palette?
